hi all i would like it if you help me choosing a new set of headphones.

ok i would like to know what everyone else is using in the way of surround sound headphones, its got to have a mic aswell

links are great if you can give one

thanks

ps UK sites only plz

I know this may been seen as a little biased seeing as I work for a company that sells them so I won't link to avoid abuse :D

Speed Link Medusa's Pro Gamer, great set of headphones , I love them for gaming.

i have been looking at them but dont they have to be used via usb ports or can you plug the headphone straight into the sound card? with the 3.5mm jacks???

they do a home version that has a seperate amplifier that plugs in to a sound card, sadly more expensive though.

or

I have heard good things about the Zalman RS6F+M (which we used to do but not at the moment so hopefully this will get me off the hook with any people who think I'm being biased), cheaper but again I've heard they give very good sound quality

or again heard good things about

Sennheiser I think the model is 150 or 160 but don't quote me on this

i was thinking more along the lines of the medusa ones as i have the Zalman ones already and the mic is not very good because its not attached to the headphones themselves.

The Medusa's are very good and can use the normal analogue connections

The Zalmans are very good (though not quite as good), but they are much cheaper

If money is not a issue, I just bought myself some new Razer HP-1's...wow :worship:! They totally kick some serious booty.

While I remeber one thing to check for if you do go for Medusa's is :-

A few months back there was a design flaw with the Mic set up on the Medusa's which led to either dead mic's or crackling etc... this has since been rectified and the newer versions work perfectly, just check with whoever you may buy them from that they are new and not old stock that may be lying about.

I had this issue and they were replaced under warranty (which Speed-Link are still honouring as they are aware there may still be some old ones knocking about out there) but just saves you the hassle of returning etc...
