Need help to find the right headset

Have just found out that the Razer Megalodon will only do 7,1 and no 5,1 that leaves just one headset left on my list the Corsair Vengeance 1500 is the only one that meets all my needs so case clossed no more searching and reviews thank god

Thanks for all the help

Can I just jump in and recommend a proper pair of headphones, such as the Audio Technica AD ATH700/900, Beyerdynamic DT770/880/990, Denon D1000 etc and a clip on/ desk mic? You'll get better value for money, much better sound, durability and flexibility. Just my 2 cents.

I'll just add that 5.1/ 7.1 is a gimmick in my humble opinion.

I agree that 5.1/7.1 on headsets is kind of a gimmick, but for most people if the headphones look good, are comfortable and have good sound quality, then they are all set.

Thanks but no thanks i have a brand new set of Sennheiser HD 598 and a Onkyo NR-808 surround sound receiver with a Harman Kardon HKTS-60 speaker set which is for everthing other then gaming

what i need is a surround sound headset for gaming only and my choice is the Corsair Vengeance 1500 because they are the only ones that have all that i need and like

All the others are missing something so the Corsair Vengeance 1500 it is if ever those stupid PC shops here in Denmark ever bother to open

Well, more the fool to you then. You've got a very nice audio set-up yet choose to opt for tacky, gimmicky, 'gamer' orientated stuff.

I never said i wont use my headphones and speakers anymore they are fantastic for music and movies but when i am gaming i preferr to use a pair of headphones/headset and the HD 598 is not good for gaming as they not a headset and i also need a microphone to talk on skype whats why i need a gaming headset with a microphone

In my 1st post I did suggest using an external microphone... They are cheap and offer better sound quality than a 'gaming headset.'

This may seem stupid but i haven't thought of that at all lol

Are there any with USB?

I'm sure you can. Or if you have sound card, you can plug it in your pink microphone jack!

The 1500's are branded gaming headsets, but to me the mic and audio quality is fine. Different people have different perceptions on sound quality. I've used it for Skype and the sound quality is really good.
