Need for Speed Carbon...

EA 
Just installed BF2142 2 days ago, all the recommended patches, updates, etc. I go to launch it next day and not only does it crash to desktop on launch, but it makes Windows unstable so I had to restart after every attempt at launching it. After hunting around the 'net for awhile I had to change some other things to accomodate BF2142 - 60Hz refresh rate, uninstall a Windows patch, etc. I wound up reinstalling the game to be able to play it... only time will tell if it'll stay stable or not.
I don't understand why the world's biggest game publisher would ship a game (based on an engine they used before) with as many problems as BF2142 seems to have. I'm definately gonna do some better research next time, and if they can't make a stable game that I don't have to completely reconfigure my system to get to run, BF2142 will be my last EA game

From what I've played of it the cars just don't feel right, it's a bit weird.

I`ve already ranted @ EA in both the UK & US for their releases of HeadCoach & JohnMadden.
I don`t know what it is with them, but since 2004 (versions 2005), there has almost been no point in buying their products.
To cut the version of the rant(s) down, the game engines are looking good and improving, but the UI in all of the cases both suck and blow.
I think FIFA looks crap also, the game engine runs pretty well, but the UI stinks.

If you want a decent driving game/sim then checkout rFactor (www.rfactorcentral.com), new mods are being release each month, the latest is the Caterham mod, 100's of tracks are available all for free.
