Nothing new about going to 4ghz on air for quad core, my qx9770 does that quite a lot for Crysis.

lol if you buy a new PSU i recommend coolermaster m620 got the same one and it's very good very silent and low heat production

My qx9650 barely hits 25% of all of the cores in Crysis.

crysis is not a good way to test you quad core, crysis tests more gpu . if you want to test your cpu use FiBanch

Nope it really isn't but any ways.

Yeah you have a CPU which is at 3.2GHz stock.. so you should have no problems at 4GHz on air. We're talking of a 1.4GHz OC here on a Q6600, and potentially a 1.6GHz OC. Your little 800MHz doesn't spec up for the extra.. 900% (£900) of the price!

I had mine q6600 on 3.8ghz stables but it was hot after 5h nonstop gaming and i have seen guys that ran on 4ghz on air without any problems

Then they have a good batch, most won't make 4GHz. Like my friends, he has tried 1.6v and still won't boot at 4GHz so he gave up.

I have done it once on P5k-E WIFI mobo but it was not stable. I have seen a guy ho did get it stable and it was in his pc case ont like all thso guys ho has to take it out of case just to cool it down.

The new I7 would be your best bet, but think it would be more expensive :-(
