Necessary PSU?

I've moved on to the last part for my new rig, the PSU.

My hardware so far:

HAF X

P8Z68-V Pro

2600K (will be OCing)

16Gb Vengeance 1600

GTX 590 Classified

H100

Crucial RealSSD

Now... I have an old AX750w PSU that I know would be efficient enough for what I have to far; however, I plan on getting an additional 590 down the road.

I also understand that the PSU is max efficiency at 50-75% load. This setup would take it past that percentage... would it be better to overdo the power supply and having the usage in the max edfeciency range?

I would look at 850W or higher if I was gonna run dual 590's

actually if I had the cash for dual 590's I would skimp on psu and would go straight to AX1200

Your AX750 is good enough to handle the GTX590. As long as you're not OC-ing the 590 I think it should stay within power specs.

And the efficiency zone isn't important?

I truely dropped my jaw when I saw this part of ur comment. The efficiency zone is important to maintaining overall stability IMHO. Go to far out of the zone and ur pushing the psu a lil harder yes it can handle it but stressing the psu for 24/7 use isnt advisable. I always try and stay within the ZONE for longevity and also it keeps it quiet and cool.

A 590 has a higher power requirement so at min 850 IMHO for it and 1000 for 2 of them remember its not just about the watts but the amps as well.

See... that's what I was thinking... thanks for the info!
