the phantom its known for silent but it runs hot.it looks cool tough.nice one

Thx man, Im very satisfied with the way it looks too.
Mine runs idle at 27-32c and does not run hot at all under heavy loads. I had a lot of heat problems with my XFX R7950 with 2 fans going from 45c idle to 95c full load.

So how 'Extreme cool and extreme silent' is it really? Maybe give us some numbers and/or a video? Can imagine some people looking for that but there aren't really any reviewers out there who've reviewed this card :)

I will be going further into that later and post updates here on the forums under this post with more information about the gpu and how well it's performing.

I've played some BF3 now @1080p and the card is very quiet, will be doing some sound samples off how the noise level is on this card.

Here's a temp graph of the card

Playing BF3 with max graphics and 3D vision 2 enabled. --> idle mode

There should also be noticed that none of my case fans is active under this test, only my H70 in push configuration. No overclock has been done yet, everything is stock configs.

3DMark11 scores on performance and extreme:

Leave a comment if there's any questions, I have never done a full review before, so please help me out guys for further tests. cheers!

Right then, now I have my Sabertooth Z77 motherboard installed aswell!
I did not install those tiny whiny motherboard fans that came with it because I want my build to be fairly silent and I think it looks better of without the small fan, a personal preference that is. Some say it's called "extreme silent, extreme cool".

Here's my build looks now peeps.

Here's how the 3dmark11 results were after overclocking cpu to 4.5ghz

thats the highest of high end, without being on the obtuse end of 7990/690.

i got right around 5000 points so half ur score, with stock cooler 3770k @4.0ghz no increase in voltage, and a gtx 560 non-ti overclocked around 950'ish. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5653201

Got an h70 on the way should arrive tommorrow, what temps are u getting with ur h70 on 4.5?

Thats great man, the H70 is really nice for cooling, Im very satisfied with it so far. I haven't really had the time to test the temps on the cpu yet but it works around 31,0c at idle right now. I will come back to you and tell what the temps are under full load when I have done some tests for that. Are you planning on upgrading your graphics to m8? cheers :D thx for reading my post!

yeah i was trying to wait it out for the amd 8000's that were suppose to release in march, but that got stalled so i guess 7950 is in the near future.

7950 is great value to, I had it for about a year and I think it's a pretty good gpu. ..Until I got stuck with some annoying problems with the 7950.. It stopped working, the gpu didn't interract with my monitor and it ran very hot. This was the XFX R7950 "DD". You can easily overclock that card up to 1GHz no problem (800Hz stock).

That is quite possibly the most awesome looking 680, or even video card I have ever seen! It doesn't have any fans though, does it? That would scare the hell out of me.

Thx! It does have fans, 2 of em, here's a photo of them (the two holes is where the fans are)

I've had the phantom for a while now, and I can tell you that much, the temps is currently not going beyond 65c under full loads. Thats not very hot.
Note that this is the maximum temp that I have recoreded with Real Temp GT 3.70.

Now here is how it all looks atm, Im very pleased with the platinum ram, it does give the build a finishing touch to it and its much more reliable than my previous ram, by that I mean no bluescreen, its just super fast and sturdy. I must say that when I took it out of the box it felt very nice in my hands, it got some weight to it, which feels like the weight of good quality.
There is 8 gigabytes arriving later this week, so all the ram slots is fully booked :D

Cheers

looks good your ram seems to light up much more than mine :(
im also after space heads for the ram, as there is a mod i wanna try

The settings on my camera makes the light look brighter in this photography, irl it doesn't light up quiet as much as it does on this picture.
Cheers!
