My gaming space: a conversion of a small desk into something more suitable for PC gaming.

It started out as one of these:

And after some modifications, ended up like this:

I thought this may be of interest to anyone with limited space. If you want to see some pics of the build process, let me know.

are you playing fps with that bonus keyboard? that is an excellent idea, i might look into that. or a cmstorm quickfire tk. will see. anyways, nice setup.

Thanks for the feedback. I use the G13 for most of my FPS games as I never could get on with a regular keyboard. It's also nice and compact so doesn't take up much space.

Here are a couple more pictures. I still have to get the legs powder coated in black and add a few more bits to it.

Excuse the mess - every time I start a project, my room descends into a bit of a pit.

I may as well throw in a couple of other pictures of what's in my games room:

DIY Vewlix arcade cabinet:

And my current project which is in progress (console / PC modular arcade cabinet). A bit of a rubbishy picture unfortunately :

everything is a mess, besides the workstation. that's how it is supposed to be ;) get a second monitor though, two screens are so much better than one.

nice work on the desk i was looking at one of them a mate was going to let me have it but dident have the room and im replastering my front room at the moment you think your room looks bad you should see mine lol

A lot of cool things going on in there. Nice neat desk. If I ever get a new system I'll have to shoot some wide pics of my desk on wheels.

Thanks for the comments :) The arcade cabinet was a labour of love and took quite a long time to complete. I wanted it to look as close to the real Vewlix cabinet as possible. My next project will be an update to my Driving Sim rig. I still plan on adding a few bits to the desk ....

Just added some Audioengine A2s to replace my previous speakers. Still breaking these in so the jury is still out on the performance at present:

Added another hanger on my accessory tidy to fit my gaming glasses case:

nice i have a g13 sealed ive never opened it as not had a use for it yet are they really that good for fps games i was gonna sell it??

I would definitely vote yes on the G13. I turn off the analog function of for the thumbstick and assign keystrokes to each of the 4 directions - really helps I find. I've also seen a thumbstick mod using an XBOX controller thumbstick - may have to try that myself.

The name of the desk is "Trexus Contract Plus". It's sourced from the UK so not sure of the availability in the States. Other than the size, it was mainly chosen for the stability i.e cantilever legs plus vanity board.
