Once the paste has set in after a weeks use I will overclock, only looking to goto around 4.5Ghz at 1.3-1.35volts don't wish to break it

Although I will be getting the tunning plan just in case so if anything go's wrong I'll be ok

Looking forward to a somewhat faster system, and my ssd will finally have some proper bandwidth lol.

Midweek will be fun not looking forward to the reinstall of stuff but it has to be done, at least my games will all be on my other drives so much less hassle

Then rebuild again when I get the new case

The temps were so good 30C idle about the same as my old chip, little warmer today, I have booted into windows and done some benchmarks @ 4.5Ghz but I need to do more research into how the overclocking works, I have a rough idea, but I have had two blue screens seemed kinda random, still have windows to update doing that now. no idea how to update the bios on this board. 4.5Ghz was at 1.3-1.325 vcore unsure if the blues screens were due to temps or ram or some setting Idk about or too low vcore. temps thou at these settings never went over 62C so I am in the right ball park but I only wish to use it @4.5Ghz it's plenty fast at this setting.

3D mark 11 was P5066 @ stock, Cinebench 11.5= 5.16 and @ 4.5Ghz=7.17, super pi 1m was 8seconds overclocked.

Makes my old set up look tame even thou that played BF3 on high feel this new upgrade I might be able to play on ultra.

YaY soon be playing BF3 XD

While BF3 is installing, I'm running Prime small FFT's @ 4.5Ghz 1.35vcore seems ok so far touch wood I don't want to go higher just get stable, until I get either a water cooling set-up or just buy a H100 for less hassles yep me a little scared of water on my nice parts, especially when I have never had a water set-up, if I did have water thou I think I would push up the volts and aim for 5-5.2Ghz seems a good goal.

really enjoying the new rig it's a massive upgrade for me from an age'ing Q6600 and the extra ram is a treat

I think I'm on the upper limit of my cooler highest temps have been 70-71C not feeling I can go higher, is 70C safe for 24/7 ??? I know it was on my Q6600 but these are somewhat different.

Just seems like an easier option, an NZXT phantom 410 and H100, I'm very happy now been running Prime 95 for 2 hours and at the same time folding and listening to music and installing BF3 at the same time as doing net stuff. My old rig wouldn't have stood a chance at this much stress and would have crashed ages ago WooT

BF3 finally installed getting a huge boost in that game 60fps on ultra, on the old set up it was 30fps down to 15fps awesome chip I think dead pleased, only problem is it's like playing a totally different game now, still I have been awake far too long so I'm off to sleeps now

http://www.zalman.com/eng/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=476 This is the case I just ordered, feel it's a good buy for a small price @£55 with P&P it will do me, might not be to everyone's tastes but imo nothing comes close to this at the sub £50 mark looking forward to giving it the once over and if I don't like it I can always sell it on.

System also got a slightly better CPU fan which has brought my cpu temp down a few C mainly when under load but it makes me feel better about overclocking a tiny bit higher.

H100 I am veering away from, I feel for the price I could buy a 2nd 560 ti in the not to distant future and so that will be my next upgrade
