Dye colour option for the loops.

  • Use gold dye in left res and blue dye in right loop. Gold loop reservoir lighted up with white, ambe

So you are happy with your Beyerdynamic headphones? I was thinking about getting the Monster Beats by Dr.Dre Solo HD since ive heard so mutch good about them. I have ordered the Corsair Vengeance 1300 headset for gaming, but dunno if they are good for music...

Aren't all Dre headphones heavily bass boosted? That's not really a good thing IMO

I dont know since i havent tested any of that brand. A collegaue of mine recomended it, and said it was awesome quality. They are quite expencive so i would need to test them before i eventuaslly pay for them.

They might sound a bit muddy is all I'm saying, it depends whether it's for creating music or just listening to it

No, but it's a fact most/ all of the Dre series are bass boosted, which will drown out other noise so if you're trying to listen to, say, classical, drums will boom and low pitch woodwind rumble while flutes will be almost inaudible, depending on how much they've biased it.

If you listen to electronic/ DnB/ rap etc then you might well prefer the bass boost.

If you intend to listen to them hooked around your neck (if it's headphones, not earphones) then you definately don't want bass boosting
 
The dre stuff is meant to be over priced for what it is and yeah really heavy on the base. My beyerdynamics lean towards the bassy end but not to an extreme degree. I find them to reproduce music very accuratly but then they were £230 so id expect them to! The beyerdynamics also have a huge soundstage, which makes dolby surround work really well. If you want to get some informed opinions on this stuff i recommend this site:

Thanks il check it out. Any of you know how the Corsair Vengeance 1300 sounds with music playing?
 
I havent used the Corsairs but from what ive read they reproduce music well for a gaming headset but wont be as good as cans that were designed for the job. So I guess wether they are a good investment depends on what you are used to and what they will be primarily used for. If music is secondary then they are probably pretty good. The soundstage appears to be quite small, which will mean they dont work to well with dolby surround but thats only an issue if you intend to use that feature.

If they are disapointing on that area il get another one just for music. Using cheap koss headphones atm

If you want a dre alternative (I.e. lots of bass) I'd definitely recommend the Sony mdx500s! Having a pair myself they are soooo comfortable and very bassy. I've got the xonar dx to go with it as well, and I've changed the eq a little and it sounds great with music and games.

Thanks. Il check those Corsair V. 1300 first and take it from there.

Been at the hardware store tonight and bought rest of materials needed for the housing. Was going to do it this morning but i kinda fell asleep

Really, really bad weather here in Norway. When i came out of the hardware store with a 240cm x 60cm x1,8cm wooden plate, the wind was so strong i almost blew into some of the parking cars. Tired of this shitty weather now, and its been like this since August. Anyways, tomorrow i will measure, cut and glue some. Will put out a few photos of the progress.

I recieved my new lap top tonight. Its in my signature

Yup, really shitty weather here in Ireland too, stong winds and rain ALL the time...so sick of it

where is the cold icy weather?! can't wait to see this build coming together!
 
Have tested it without the new soundcard and only by listening to music. Tbh im not impressed with it, but it will sound alot better with the STX installed. The sound lacks bass and the treble sounds odd. Will test it with BF3 tonight and check how the sound is.

This is a gaming headset that is ment to be used with a dedicated soundcard, so im sure il be more then happy with it when i got my main rig with dedicated soundcard up and runing.
 
Yeah pretty hard to make any judgements when its being driven by onboard sound. You might be able to get it working better with a few tweaks to the eq until you can use it with the sound card.
