Went to the hardware stor today and bought more gold and some nice black metallic paint for my motherboard tray. Will try and cut the tray smaller, file the edges and sand it for painting. Will start on the wood part after 20/8 so check in from time to time if you like this.

Looks great can't wait to see even more XD, i love the concept of computers in a desk but i'm not brave enough to do something so extream myself.

Been really busy at work lately. Not working on tuesday so perhaps i can finnish the MB tray then. I ordered some member effects http://www.radcarton.co.uk/oc3dvinylgraphics.html

Maybe they will fit nicely with the rest of my mods. :-)

Gonna make them gold to match the rest of the mod?

Really am loving the use of gold here dude. It's VERY tastefully done, not to "bling" or garish

They will stay blue. Got 5-6 zigmatek fans with blue acrylic blades, some blue sleeved cables and the tubing/cpu block will also be blue. Have no idea of how it will look when its finnished :-)

coming along nicely mate.

Hows the weather over inNorway for painting outside?

Its very good. Its not high humidity, so as long as its not raining and the temps are good its sweet to paint outside.

Thanks. Gonna work on it tomorrow, so if i get the time i will update logg. Stay tuned for more :-)

. I have a litle girl, 17 months old, and ive been taking care and having fun with her today. I love her and ofcourse this project can be put on hold anytime i need. Socket 2011 is still far away anyways :-)

Made a drawing on how it will be constructed.

I can't help but think a false floor would be a good idea to pass tubing and cable down and up where they're needed.

Can pass cables under the MB tray, and i am thinking about making a plate out of wood or metal that can cover up some cables. Or i could drill holes and hide some beneath the housing. Many ways to do this so il decide when the project is a bit more finnished.

While you're getting a new Dremel, think about picking up an angle grinder. The stiffer cutting discs make cutting so much less stressful, 2mm thick cutting disc are surprisingly easy to get precision cuts that I which I had gotten one earlier. Keep the Dremel for delicate and detailed work.

Yeah i think i will go out and get an angle grinder tomorrow. The dremel started to work again, but it doesnt go on full speed and its running hot very quick. Piece of crap if you ask me. I dont force it when i cut, so it shouldnt run hot.

I know I destroyed the motor brushes on an old overused sub-standard rotary tool (not a Dremel), the thing run hotter very quickly and the no-load speed is noticeably less.

I think thats my issue also. Alitle annoying since the dremel is almost brand new and ive lost the receipt

Will purchase a cheaper brand of tool today, and a angle grinder

Bought a new multitool, and it was very cheap compared to the dremel. 1/4 of the prize, so if i break it, it doesnt matter. Will get up early tomorrow and get all the cutting done, and hopefully start sanding and priming.

Finally done with the cutting. My hands are numb, lol :-)

The new tool worked like a charm, and i really like the straight lines. The tray's edges are filed down and ready for sanding. Gonna prime it today also, so stay tuned.

Using my really good camera from now on, so pictures will be in higher quality.

Im really not sure what colour the tray should have. I was going to paint it metallic black, but then i come to think of maybe i should do it goldish. What do you think i should do? black or gold?
