I might have miswritten some when i said front panel, and maybe people think its the hole front of one chassis. It was late and what i was going to write was a multi media I/0, and it fits in a 5.25" bay. So just to clear that up :-)

Yeah you should definitely modd the Cosmos because its a really cool case to work on. Get a window maybe, spraypaint the inside and ive also seen people who have turned the MB tray 90 degrees witch is really nice for the airflow. I shall send you a few links in PM on some nice cosmos mods ive seen.

Thanks for the suport m8, and cu around.

Good to hear that your child is well. How many GPU's are you going to use?

Im still holding on to my two 5870's. Running all games nicely. I can get a third 5870 very cheap, but havent decided if im gonna do that or wait til 2012 and get 3 brand new ones with new arcitechture. I will most liekly wait and just get 3 new one's and watercool them all. Maybe a waste of money to get waterblocks for my 2 or 3 5870's?

Great. Good luck m8.

Today i got some time for projectwork, so i might update with some new pictures later on tonight. Finnishing the acrylic and going out to purchase some wood materials.

Ok. Just got home from the hardware store. Bought two wooden plates, magnets for the doors and some hinges. Payed 80£ for this and i will need one more of these plates + some smaller plates. Estimated prize is 200£ for just the wood, hinges, glass and magnets. Expensive materials, and this is without sandpaper and primer/paint. Can add 50£ more in paint.

One of the woodenplates

Hinges and magnets for the cabinet doors.

After lunch i will start measuring and cut the wood. Oh and look. The hinges are golden :-)

Pheew. First cabinet almost done. Need backside and door, and then sanding down and painting. Think il go for white on the outside. Now i need something to eat

Oh and this is from pinetree

Had a minor problem tonight. The backplate was bent and i had to go out again on the hardwarestore to buy a planer. Once it fitted i had a gap, but i just fill with levelling compound. Got some sanding to do next but that wont happend before the weekend. Im tired now and gonna relax rest of the night. Have to work and earn some money the next two days.

Gap.

Think im gonna stiffen up the door with some kinda steel material. Would be so annoying if it bends.

Also going to make holes for cables in the back of the cabinet. Got a brand new color laser printer im gonna have in it. These things always get dusty so i will avoid that now.

Picked up a package from caseking tonight. The Lian li Multi-Media I/O Ports with Power /Reset Button all in one, USB2.0 x 4, IEEE1394 x 1, E-SATA x 1, HD+AC97 Audio Model: BZ-U01 B.

Also getting a usb 3.0 hub soon, so that will be nice.

My cam was out of power, but it looks like this:

Making the second cabinet tomorrow, Saturday. Sanding down and painting Sunday or monday. And then the fun parts beginn, making the housing for the computer :-)

Got several ideas for the cablesystem, but will put that on hold until the chassis is more finnished.

Have a nice weekend all...

Edit.

Ordering some cable extensions tonight, but some of the cables i need, are out of stock.....pff.

Also, i think il get some nzxt led cable kits, white and blue.

Got some new blades for my jigsaw, so it will be quick to build the second cabinet. I made the first one with handsaw. Right now, im just waiting for my litle girl to sleep, and then im back in business with the project.

Edit:

Shit happens when u are outside in the dark using a jigsaw, and wearing a headlight. Got all the pieces cut out and i thought things went alright. When i started to screw it all togetter i realised that the sidepanels wasnt 90 degrees and also to long in width. Thought i could force it into place but that could not be done. So i had to take out all screwes and do a remeasuring. The sidepanels had up to 9mm margin of error. So i need to cut off some more, and also do a some light adjustments to get this fixed. What the hell was i doing?? lol...

Well, atleast the parts werent to short. That would have been catastrophic. As long as errors are fixable im happy..

Second cabinet is coming togetter. Wasnt 100% straight today either but i managed to force it to 90 degrees while screwing on the backside. I have added levelling compound, so soon i can sand both down, prime and paint them. The front doors are remaining but i need more materials.

Nice to see that it lined up with the back panel on. I was a bit confused when I saw daylight between the angle and the wood.
