Ok changing RAM to 1600mhz do I need to change the timings, they are currently on 8.8.8.24
Timings are fine.
All you need is set uclk to 3200, and qpi/vtt voltage what you have now.1.32-1.38v

My 980x is getting such a hammering today, its not liking it LOL
Why do I have so much trouble![]()
I did not think your IMC would have such a hard time running with a BLOCK of 200 and RAM at 2000Mhz but now that we know that, it will probably be pretty much downhill from now![]()
So are you running prime with your mem at 1600 and QPI and Vcore at 1.3v?
Yep 10 minutes in and no fail so far........ FINGERS CROSSED![]()
Would I really notice a difference between 2000mhz and 1600mhz RAM?
MOST likely no.. I would play it safe and run at 1600Mhz, but that's just me..
I don't think you need to run long.. I'm 95% sure its stable at these settings. But go for a Vcore of 1.25v and run prime. I did some google'ing and most people with 980x at 4Ghz are running 1.22-1.26 Vcore so try 1.25![]()
1.27v has failed now too, should I change the UCLK to 3200 like kilobravo said?
1.28v on cpu and 3200 uclk, qpi 1.32v should be stable. And a big difference from yesterday to now.You know what to do and where![]()

3200 UCLK, 1.27vcore & QPI of 1.30v just failed![]()
Gunna put QPI to 1.32v
Fine tuning is a pain in the BLEEP,but a stable tuned system is a bliss to work with.Maybe cpu pll need a nudge up.

Tell me about it, thought I had cracked it this morning.......
