My First 4ghz Overclock (980x)

Timings are fine. All you need is set uclk to 3200, and qpi/vtt voltage what you have now.1.32-1.38v

So change UCLK from Auto to 3200??

AM running prime atm with 1.30v vcore & 1.30v QPI with RAM at 1600mhz, if it fails again I will change the UCLK to 3200

My 980x is getting such a hammering today, its not liking it LOL

Why do I have so much trouble

I did not think your IMC would have such a hard time running with a BLOCK of 200 and RAM at 2000Mhz but now that we know that, it will probably be pretty much downhill from now

So are you running prime with your mem at 1600 and QPI and Vcore at 1.3v?

Yep 10 minutes in and no fail so far........ FINGERS CROSSED

Would I really notice a difference between 2000mhz and 1600mhz RAM?

I don't think you need to run long.. I'm 95% sure its stable at these settings. But go for a Vcore of 1.25v and run prime. I did some google'ing and most people with 980x at 4Ghz are running 1.22-1.26 Vcore so try 1.25

OK I will go in and change it to 1.25v vcore, QPI leave at 1.30v?

Fine tuning is a pain in the BLEEP,but a stable tuned system is a bliss to work with.Maybe cpu pll need a nudge up.

Tell me about it, thought I had cracked it this morning.......

I'm not 100% sure my Motherboard isn't faulty (Which probably isn't helping....)

QPI 1.32v, Vcore 1.28v UCLK 3200 atm....
