My First 4ghz Overclock (980x)

After changing the settings it failed on the 1024mb test......

oh if I am

I was lucky to get invited to the BF3 alpha and it was F'ing amassing IMO

the graphics are just stunning! The feel of the weapons, all the animation (for example when jumping over stuff) was awesome.MW3 we will see I don't like the more arcade oriented games, but sometimes that's fun too

(not when half the team is running around with GL on a round of domination...

)How about you?

I am bit undecided with both, which is probably why I will end up buying both, I thought COD Black ops was a bit of a let down, but I think we were all expecting it to be like MW2 forgetting they are made by different people...... I really like MW2 the special ops were great, me and friends had great fun doing them, I hope MW3 has the same sort of thing...... But I haven't read much about it TBH

Watch your temps when using LinX or Intel Burn Test they stress more than Prime!

If you want to prove its your memory holding you back put your memory to 1600MHz. If it still failing it indicates its probably not the issue.

You might need more NB voltage which will be IOH Core or similar. Or more PLL voltage. 1.88 id Intel's safe spec.

We have put the memory down to 1600mhz and it still failed

Vcore 1.28 (also tried 1.29)

QPI 1.36

3200 UCLK

CPU PLL 1.85

Well it's not memory then.

Try increasing your NB voltage to 1.25V, its the IOH voltage in bios that you have currently set to auto.

Also as kilobravo mentioned you want your QPI link set to 3600 to give 7.2GT/s but this will not cause instabilty just will not be running optimally.

Thanks guys I will give it ago at the weekend when I have some free time....

My CPU just doesn't want to give in, and let me have a stable OC

I'm back at stock atm as I need my PC for work in the week

Appreciate all your help, will update at the weekend, or before if I get the time

I think I have finially got a STABLE OC @ 4ghz

Settings are:-

20 x 200

1.30v (Vcore)

1.36v (QPI)

3200 (UCLK)

7200 (QPI Data Link)

1600mhz Ram - Timings 8.9.8.24

I ran 2 x Linx Tests

2048 RAM - PASSED

All RAM (4478) - PASSED IN:- 1h8m Exactly.

What do you guys think???

Good job, I'm glad you finally got it
wink.gif
so you manually set your QPI data link and changed your timings to 8-9-8-24?

Yeah I changed the QPI Data Link to 7200 as Kilobravo said

And have been looking on the net, about the Corsair Dominator Ram that I have, and everyone seemed to be running it at 8.9.8.24..... So I changed it to

Thanks for your helps peeps, awesome as ever
