Ok guys, heres one for you. There's a company in the UK called Multiplay UK (gives away there a UK company really). They arrange big LAN parties and events known as the i-series. These are if you don't know 3 or 4 day events that are held at Newbury Race Course and are attended by 1000+ people from anywhere as far as Australia!!!!

My question to you is would you be interested in attending one of these events for a 4 day event over August bank holiday called i21. We can then meet up, have a drink, play some games, have another drink and generally great fun time. For more info on these events go to Multiplay UK website.

I would love to see if we can get an [EP-UK] clan together to go to this event or upcoming events and show people how good we are at what we do. I'm normally one of the only ones there with a prommy and keep getting offers of £2000+ to buy it off me as Art will tell u lol. It's a great laugh and is enjoyed by all that go, this is my fourth event now and I never get bored as theres a bar, big TV, great people, and Liquid nightclub nearby :p

So come on guys, who's interested? Please :)

Cheers

Well can u give me some more info plz m8...

what does this fee get u..?

a room to sleep in maybe..?

what games r played there..?

Ok for £70 u get,

1) Access to the event for 4 days to do what ever you want as long as it's not illegal of course.

2) There is camping space for tents and stuff, also a big marquee tent which u can take a sleeping bag to, or do what I do and fall asleep at your PC or go to the changing rooms which no1 uses and sleep in there in the warm ;)

3) Anything you want at all. There is no limit on what games you can play, solitare to UT2k4 or BF1942 whatever takes your fancy.

Your'e paying for the reduced priced PC parts, 100Mb/s internet (BT), 1000+ people on a LAN to play against and then go and mingle with and laugh about your games, and also for the atmosphere of the event. I still can't get over how cool the people are down there it's brilliant, I really can't explain the atmosphere you just have to witness it, if you get what I mean.

The racecourse is literally 10-15mins walking distance away from Newbury town centre so pubs, clubs, and food is always near. Of course there is a bar, and resteraunt thing at the racecourse but I always buy it in to keep costs down.

If you wanted you could join the {TTG} clan (thats the clan name me n my mates go under) and join us in a little fun and then maybe we could get other EP-UK guys to go and form the EP-UK clan and have a laugh playing what we want, when we want.

Oh did I forget to mention the entire event is 24hour, which means EVERYTHING is 24hour opening, all servers, machines and EVERYTHING is open :p. You need to take your own system but thats the best bit. You can see what other people are doing with their systems and have comps between new mates and stuff on benches and stuff like that. Its great.

If you want someone elses view just ask Arterion, he's a {TTG} guy aswell.

Cheers

Hell yeah, i'm hooked on the i-series, most fun i've had in ages. Great atmosphere, always something to interest you or someone making some hilarious comment over the PA lol. Very close to Newbury which has obvious advantages including food, pubs & clubs.

Ultra fast internet connection......do with it what you will. No porn or warez tho, they don't like them.

Go! You know you want to...

Yeah it does sound like alot of fun...

Thing is i play games like TheMoonProject (RTS), BHD and thats about it for constant play.. ive probably played nearly everygame avalible to buy but these 2 r those i always go back to and i know for a fact no one else will be playing TMP lol wich is my true pc gaming love.. so next would be bhd.. but i didnt see it on the list...

How does it work for server wise.. cos say i did go and i set a BHD server up how do i let other ppl know its there..? is there a board or something..?

Yea theres an intranet site that sees every server available. There is also IRC which you can tell people about your server in and stuff like that.

If you set the server to internet game then it will also show up on the server listings that you access through the intranet which uses URL Game Loader to load the game through the IP addy. Multiplay also offer a £20 server co-location service for anyone who wants to put there server into the farm, which gives it direct access to the root hubs which are all gigabit and once it's on that it will never dissapear from the list unless it goes down for some reason. My clan currently has 2 co-lo servers and we are hoping to have one at the next event. By BHD is assume you mean Black Hawk Down yea? I fyou do I also play that and I'm sure there are other people there who play it aswell.

Check out the forums on the multiplay.co.uk site and ask about if anyone plays those games, I'm sure out of the 900-1000+ people there a few will play the games you play ;). Also just because a game isn't on the list doesn't mean people aren't playing it. We had another clan there last time playing BF1942 DC and there were no servers running so we set one of our co-lo server to DC for them and had a game of it with them, it's things like that which make the events fun and enjoyed by all becuase people can request a game to multiplay and they will set a server up if they have the game if not just whack it up on the intranet forums and see how many wanna play.

It's a great laugh and you meet loads of new mates there. I was a little worried the first time I went that people wouldn't play the games I played at the time, sure enough after an hour or so of being there we were in a 15 player game. Everyone there is there to have a good time and make the experience worth while for all.

If you are also worried about things getting stolen and what have you, I now have been to 4 events and left my P900 phone sat on the desk for about 4 hours while I was in the bar, came back and it was still there along with my £3500 PC. Everyone looks out for everyone down there, it's great.
