Mtb:)

Took my Stumpjumper out for the first time in ages earlier, really need to get out with it more often to recover from Uni lifestyle. It got slightly dirty so I had to clean it immediately upon returning home...

How come that most of the stuff JR has is like real eye candy?... just look at that bike, that is a something I'd totally buy to be honest here.

I used to do some mountain biking, dirt and street riding as well. Even did a few dirt jumping back in the days... but stopped due to change of friends, school and adult life sort of took over hehe.

I did really enjoy it while it lasted and I always loved riding on the back wheel... how many of you old lads still ride on the backwheel, and perhaps even does some wheely? (if that's spelled correctly) ;)

Hello people, I am currently looking at getting into MTB to loose some weight, I used to cycle everywhere once I was younger, but I need to find a bike that could support my weight(21st). I am also 6ft 3in. Any help is greatly appreciated :D

If this is in the wrong place please remove :)

Lots of Specialized love in this thread...

Here's my Specialized Hardrock Disc Sport 29er...

Completely standard apart from some Uberbike brake pads which have totally transformed the previously terrible Tektro hydraulics.

With 21st you will be ok with hardtail from good known brand( I would rather avoid cheep bikes), also with you height you right in the middle between Large and Xlarge frame, for the beginning you should avoid jumping( just in case), and well it depends how much you want to spend .
Something like that should do the job well

Not ridden a bike for a LOT of years but this is what I used to ride back in the day

It's the Raleigh Grifter Mk 1 released in 1977 and what a bike it was it had three gears that you changed by twisting the handle grip, just like a "real" motorbike LOL

Well even at 21st you can increase the air pressure in your shocks to compensate and prevent hurting yourself should you bottom out the forks :) I have seen heavier people riding with no issues, so I don't think your weight will be a problem at all.

Go for a hardtail and I would suggest a 29er wheelset with a large or XLarge frame size bike which will be nicely suitable for your height.

Considering how fast the value on bikes drops due to constant new models, you can get a nice high end bike quite cheap on places like gumtree etc. But personally I would always buy a bike from new.

That bike is a bit out of my spending zone lol I just want to get something semi-decent to see if I actually stick to it before i spend lots on a decent bike :D

I never even thought about Gumtree or anything like that lol I would only buy one if it is in decent condition.
