More SP's than a GT so it looks like 2 downclocked G92 GTS glued together... Rumours the 9800GTX is released a few weeks after this. Not an exciting card though.

Might well be upgrading to something similar around april'ish :) Bday ftw

Nice find.

Before they had the 7900GX2 and then upgraded it too the 7950GX2 so maybe something like that will happen with this card.

I reckon that GX2 will still kick some serious butt. Think it will be priced silly tho.

So soon for the GTX ? I was still looking at months.

Also there will supposedly be a 9800GT, which is just 8800GT but tri-sli capable.

Seems kinda stupid to me...

Don't hold your breath for the 9800GTX it isn't next gen, it is g92 based tweaked and improved, from what I have read.

The GX2 is basically two 512 GTS in sli so it will perform nicely. I can't see nvidia pricing this much higher than the X2 as the X2 is the GX2's competition. Mr. Smith estimates £325ish. Obviously I could be wrong.

Y'know what is getting me excited? No upcoming tech. Not this year anyway lol. Crapola multis on the new intel quads (bar the uber expensive qx), none existant competition from AMD in the cpu market and rehashed gpu tech from both sides.

Smith out.

GX2 is a dual PCB, dual GPU G92 based card, nothing special unfortunately.

Mr. Smith - specs are gone now I think, got the details?

There is this from expreview:

9800GX2-spec.jpg

But the MSI one said 660mhz cores and 2200mhz GDDR3 ram...

I can see a 9800GT being a step of the 8800GT, but can`t figure on them bringing out a 9800GTX that doesn`t wipe the floor with everything.

9800GT would surely come next year tho ?

Think nVidia are doing this on purpose for a year just to mess with ur minds.

No diggidy, no doubt the new GTX will be better than anything else out (at that time) but it isn't going to be the leap like 7900 to 8800. No new architecture, just a rework.

9800GTX > 9800GX2 > 3870X2.

The R700 is just a rework of existing tech, including a new X2, 4870X2 or something.

Time will tell, all I have is news based on speculation from rumours lol.

I wish nvidia would comment on upcoming products. I want to see FRAPS reviews of all upcoming cards.

I greatly doubt the 9800GTX will beat the GX2, 2 of them in SLI probably will though, just like in the 7series.

What I didn't get was why they didn't have another 384bit card on G92, its capable of it I'm pretty sure..

Hopefully that'll be the GTX. G92 with 384bit and full ROPS. Now that would be a nice performer :D

if all the info is right so far, the new 9800gtx is going to be a bit of a failure in my eyes and definitely not worth "upgrading" the old 8800gtx to (more like a downgrade imo)

depending on the game, resolution and settings used, i'm pretty sure an older 8800gtx could beat the newcard

State of the internet atm, there`s so much crap news/speculation/rumors - and blatent unknowns that it becomes very hard to rely on anything or find info on things.

Search for 9800GTX info and u get stuff about what the 8800GT is from last november and misinformation x 1000 all copy/pasted about that far-east site alledgedly broke news with.

Information Super Speculation.

I blame the blog generation myself, much harder to find concrete info these days.
