Ok, I've been meaning to take pics of the rig in it's current state for a while, and i still haven't so until then here's some stand in pics which I'll edit out once I do take some (maybe next week, maybe not
)
firstly, the case, one of these:

Really love this case, especially since it cost me next to nothing... just right place at the right time when someone was getting rid of it
needed a few extra parts from quiet PC spares that it was missing, but all in cost me about £15
so inside:
one P5Q-E
with a Q6600 cooled by:
a Gelid Tranquillo
and overclocked to 3.4 GHz
4 GB of this:
one of these:
inb4 anyone says 450 is puny, at full load this rig draws less than 300W (measured at the socket), so until I need more power, I'll stick with this.
and a few spinny disks of various sizes...
