I helped my grandfather build a basic I3 rig around a year ago, we were replacing his old Pentium III because his motherboard went to hell. He primarily uses it for his engineering software VP Command. (doesn't need much processing or graphics power because its just wireframe) but when we installed the software on his new OS and HDD it refused to open the files that we had transferred. I searched all the VP related folders to see if there were extensions missing but found none. So basically we ended up hooking the old IDE drive up to the computer and using it to store all of his VP files... Now that it has been almost a year, and I realize that his HDD is almost as old as I am; I need to transfer the files for him or get him a new disk... Any Ideas short of cloning the drive to transfer these files or reasons for it refusing to open them?
(just a quick pick to give you an idea of the situation)
(fixed all the cables for the most part and added a rear fan after the pic as they had shaken loose since I put it in)
