MonoChromatico v2.0

I feel so ashamed. I will never have a PC this nice.

Honestly... the hardware takes second place to me... doing the mods and the build is all the fun. All this is from the previous build... once in a lifetime opotunity to buy the stuff so I went for it.

Both machines are somewhat a memorial piece dedicated to my dad who passed away a year ago.

Nice build mate, that metal tubing is going to look awesome in that rig.

I really hope so... so far I like the preliminary result :)

No way in hell i would own that stupid motherboard.

Yep, It just a brand that doesn't get much love here.

:)

So very small update:

I tried to cut the decal/vinyl wrap for the reservoir my self but it really didn't turn out very well so going to have them made. He's a couple of pics that will hopefully give and idea of what I have in mind. I've mounted a LED strip behind the res so it will hopfully give it a cool light effect through the res when done.

All I've had time to do beside the failed wrap is to remove the PSU sticker and do the tube run from GPU to CPU.

The custom cables are on their way from Icemodz in Iceland. They should arrive at the end of the week. And with a bit of luck I will have my decals for res and PSU today.

A rather discouraging update. The company I counted on to do my decals won't be able to do it unless they have to charge me a couple of hundred pounds. So that part is dead in the water right now. :( Pretty sad as that would really have made the build stand out more.

Anyone know of companies in the EU that does small quantity custom decals?

maybe try and ask at dub-spencer.com that's the only place I know of right now. I can't guarantee anything though as I was only in contact with them as a company.

It depends what sort of decals you are talking about. If you mean just regular old cut decals?

Is what I have. Do note though that the blades need changing regularly. If you are talking about full colour printed decals then I would have no idea, given you're not in the UK.

Thanks I'll have a look

ooooh.... my very own plutter/cutter.... thats of course an option... new toys... new toys!!! :)

If you buy Graphtec (CraftRoBo) blades then yes, I recommend spending a premium for a 3 pack of 45 Degree Roland blades every time, ours last for 6 months per blade and we do some seriously extensive cutting.

As for printed/cut graphics you'll need a printer plotter like the Roland Versa Cam or similar with a registration mark reader, you can also get mini (hobby) plotters that cut and have registration readers which means you'd need to print onto vinyl with a desktop printer using UV solvent inks. Alternatively you can always look for a print or sign shop near to you and they could do that for you.

I've switched to the machined aluminium blade holder and the blades are far cheaper now. Once you buy the cartridge thing (about £8) you can get the blades in packs of three much cheaper :)

Been researching those plotters/cutters all day yesterday. Not that I think they are expesive for what they are, but for how much I will be using it I can't really justify the cost :)

My Uncle designs cardbod boxes and enclousures for a living so I've sendt him the files and hope he can make the decals... even if he hadn't heard the word before... well we're danish :)

Custom cables from Icemodz arrived! Seriously one of the best parts. Opening the box shortly... Will be able to get the system put together now. Pics to follow!

Update:

Build is delayed until the end of the week. Good news though as my uncle confirmed that he'll be making the decal for the res. Going to sask him to do a decal for the PSU as well... Think it will Be the Hexgear logo without text...

Update Time!!! Finally got a few hours free to work on MonoChromatico :)

Banger job on the Cables by Mundi ;)

All I managed to get done. But boy did I enjoy getting a few hours of me time doing stuff I love....

Decals for PSU and res should arrive sometime next week. My uncle should be doing them today (if he gets time)

I may do the rest of the tubing tonight... depends if I will be able to unscrew the res an pull it out when the tubing run that goes infront of it is in... well at least I can do drainport run, cpu to rad run and drainport to pump run..

Stay tuned for more... The end is near! :)

WARNING! PICTURE HEAVY UPDATE!

Aaaaannndd.... not quite there yet but very close! :)

All tubing runs done. Pump to GPU only temporary for these pics as the decals still need to go on the res and PSU.

In no particullar order: Lots of chrome bling ;) I really like chrome...
