errrr,so its failed because it ran for 11 months before problems(even then not a full blockage).Any enthusiast knows you should change your water more than once a year(says with tongue in cheek, mine has not been changed in 18 month, but now my tubes are yucky and my temps have gone up.)
My testing method for any white liquid is a 12 month none blocking in my heat killer. The heat killer so far is my nemesis and kills off over 95% of liquids i test out. Im pretty happy to say if my heat killer blocks it then it wont be going retail Especially if its a Performance liquid.
A normal user of a water cooling loop wich is 90% of the market do not change out there liquids at all. They put it in and leave it. Then when they buy a new system it might see a liquid upgrade. No matter what i put on the bottle people don't read it. If 99% of you are like me then manuals are when i need a long dump on the loo (normally 9 months after i bought a product).
Now as for the aurora range this is going to be tricky cos i know it will block eventually as the coating on the pearl will fail at some point. Last night i swapped out the MD-HBN-70 liquid and after 2 min with a cloth i was ready to go again (that is how easy it was to clean the block) how ever the res .. well that's another matter as HBN has coated every thing like it was supposed to do and is pita to clean off.
I feel happy to put it on the back burner for now and when i have either a spare test system and can afford it ill take HBN down to 20nm which will be drastic increase in the price how ever from what i've read so far may all so equate to it equalling water and possibly may be better than water at higher temperatures (im talking when hitting the 80c mark here).
Now me a Ice Dragon cooling chat a bit over email and hes managed to get his white liquids to work at 40nm which is good news as it means he can drop his prices a little how ever it means he has to suspend the liquids were as with HBN i don't use any thing to suspend the liquids hence why it was such a good performer.
With Aurora range i have to suspend the particles else it doest work well hence again a performance decrease in the liquids
but a better effect
....
Reading my temps atm with the small over clock of 4.2 Ghz on my quad core my normal temp is 37c which is 4c above water (after working out the delta) with the HK ive then go to run it under prime for 1 hour and take its results and see what's its temps are. Then im going to leave the liquids in situate for 6 months under normal working condition do it all again then strip the system and see how the HK is. If all is well then i will be happy to release it with only a 6 month life span.
With all my liquids from now on im looking to change the market and spit it into two category properly. The real performance liquids and none performance liquids.
