Mach 1 coming soon, questions before I order

Well, a guy I know has decided to sell all his computer parts and I have dibs on his (as he advertises) " Chipcon/Nventiv/Prometia Mach 1 Vapor Phase Change Cooling Unit filled with R134a". I just have some questions regarding it before I order:

How noisey is it?

Do you have to leave it on all night/all the time?

Does it "run out" of the gas?

Is it moddable (put quieter fan in or whatever)?

All he has is a 478 mounting kit where as I have an s939 X2 3800. I don't, however, want to spend an extra £60 on an amd one. Does anyone on this forums make/know somebody who will make it for me? I live in England.

Thanks guys, and I hope I shall have a good time on these forums.:)

Hi and welcome to the forum's,

The mach1 is the first and most basic of the nventiv range how much are you paying for it???

The unit won't run out of gas unless you get a leak, they are modable for quieter fans and you dont have to leave them on all the time only when your pc is running.

I dont think they are overly noisey however if you dont like any noise then the mach is not for you

I am paying £170 for it including shipping. I dont really mind that it is the most basic, its the only used one I can find and aslong as it keeps it cooler than my Big Typhoon....

What size fans do I put on it? Are they special ones or what?

I think they run Panaflows as standard - the thicker ones. You can change them for whatever you want from the 120mm range, but the originals are ok.

With a beter fan you can see better temperature results.

The fans on the stock mach 1's are 240V bear that in mind.

As for s/h mounting kits I am unsure if anyone here has one we do have a classifieds forum but you cant see that until you have hit 50 or 100 posts ( if you spam to get into the classifieds you get banned )

You may want to look into MachII units or Chilly1 units, depending on your budget.

I was unaware that the MachI used 240V fans! The MachII uses 12V, so are easy to find replacements.
