Mac Upgrade time ?

I m still using:

- Macbook Air 2008 (1.86 GHz - 2Gb Ram - 120 Gb SSD - Nvidia 9400m) MacOSX El Capitan
- Apple Magic Mouse
- Apple Earpods
Perfect, no problems at all, i use it always and it s like new

- Iphone 4S (Apple A5) (White) IOS 9
- Ipad 2 (Apple A5) (White) IOS 9
- Apple Earpods

a little slow, but ok

as desktop macs i have 3 imac 27 5k, but i m usually not at home, so i don t use em.

The upgrade i have in mind is :

- Macbook 12 Space Gray
- Iphone 7 Plus Jet Black
- Ipad Pro Space Gray

i prefer all Jet black, but there are no macs or ipads Jet Black.

is it a good idea ? is it time to upgrade? i don t find a big difference for my light use atm

If you are still getting by on a Iphone 4s then you don't need a 7. The Ipad pro is for professionals, would you make use of features like that?

Why would you buy a Macbook and a Ipad Pro? isn't the latter pretty much the former? without a keyboard?

Is there a specific reason you are sticking with Apple ?

For the amount you pay for an apple laptop you could get a much MUCH more powerful Windows based laptop.

Not here to argue over Mac vs Windows. But I find it ironic your name is Alienware gamer and you only use Mac's:D

Btw you don't need the iPad Pro, the MacBook will do everything but better. You'd probably be better off with a MBP tbh than everything else

A bit of a strange question to ask for what is primarily a desktop PC forum, but alright.

I think the MacBook is utterly useless. It is essentially a phone in the shape of a small laptop. If you want to spend that kind of money get yourself a decent laptop from ASUS, Lenovo, or Dell (other brands are available). The MacBook pro really isn't much of a "pro" anymore, so I wouldn't be getting that either.

Thats just my view though :)

Ok so confusing because too many Aliens and ALX's but essentially - If you want a new phone buy the 7 you'll be very happy with it.

Any reason you want both a tablet and a notebook?

The MacBook (non-pro 12") is pretty basic. Slim and pretty but that's it. I'd say the iPad Pro is actually more user friendly due to the touch screen.

Aside from the operating system they're pretty similar in capability and performance for the price so you may be better off pooling your resources and buying a much more capable convertible tablet or a higher end MBPro. Something like the surface pro or a Lenovo Yoga - if you can get a quality one.

Really you already answered your own question when you said you only use it lightly. If it's not broken and all your software runs fine then there's no point.

hello!
i m thinking about ipad pro because the screen is bugger (13" version).
as you said i don t need power, but ipad pro and macbook are different, starting from the os/touch/keyboard presence ...

i don t need power, but usually i read a document on ipad and another on macbook. they re so small that s not a problem to carry both. and screen is good!

tnx, i already have windows laptops, i use em for gaming. I use Macs for the other unfunny things
