For my current audio setup I have a ASUS Xonar STX with my Sennheiser PC 360. This has been getting along well and my audio sounds pretty good; however, my headset has started to feel loose and cheap, not the kind of feeling I enjoy. I believe this mainly because the headband is made of plastic. It is getting to the point of where turning my head if my headset isn't on quite right I can hear the plastic creak.
Now that the reason I want to get a replacement is out of the way, what do guys suggest. I don't really want a downgrade in quality, but don't need a dramatic difference in quality. I not sure how much money I feel like spending on this since I just got this audio card this last month upgrading from a ASUS Xonar DSX. I am going to say that at the most probably around $300 USD. I picked up my current headset for $175.
Also I have been wondering if I'd be better off with desk mic, mod mic, or to get a headset. I actively use voip so this is required to have a mic and one that sound decent.
