Looking for a good free mmorpg

Yes. A good, free mmorpg which I deem as little/no lag, little/no bots, interesting to play, not pure grinding for hours upon end and not runescape (lol.)

Ideas?

Darn thing installed on my C: disk without asking

It's been downloading an unknown client or update three times

It wants to know my real address (postal code 0000AA )

And now it's stuck on the effing splash screen! ><

any other ideas for a good free one? or perhaps i should get trialling as theres no good "pay once, play forever" they are all subscriptions (N)

The exteel splash screen came to life 20 minutes after appearing

Game doesn't look too bad, but the gameplay so far is an awfully weak ripoff of the Heavy gear / mechwarrior series.

bit late but yes d2 works on lan, was playing it a few months back, can also play it across himachi
