Looking for a boost of ram - Any good?

My current 2gb kit really does limit my overclocking and vista loves his ram and im not looking into a ddr3 board as my current one is fine

Perhaps a better choice though is the OCZ ReaperX PC2-6400 4Gb DDR2 Kit

Well the ReaperX is deffo the better overclocking kit of the two. But if you are on a shoestring, the platinum will do ya fine (it's used in one of the OC3D servers)

Not sure if i can find it any cheaper

Are you hell bent on 4GB?

If you can settle for 2 (saving some cash at the same time) The cruical ballistix is awesome stuff. Looking from the overclocking side, i spect they out-do most if not all 4GB kits.

Ahem, seriously my good man, if you are getting a 64bit OS then 4gb rocks, even if you are going for a 32bit 3gb is better than 2gb!

So my 64bit vista will lavish in the thought of 4gb of those reaperx babies!

I dont think my e6300 will go that far tbh - it loves its vcore

as long as i can get better timings than 5-5-5-15 (or more importantly less than half my ram used on idle lawl)

Can you get 4 of these in a board or does the heat sink get in the way?

I am only asking as at the minute I use 4 x 1Gb ballistix 8500 and am wondering if this would be an upgrade?

On most motherboards the heatspreader apparently gets in the way. But at £90 i'd prolly just take the heatspreaders off if i wanted 8gb.
