You make me think of my sister and my ex wife, they did not drive until they were 18. My dad was a former policeman and took my sister in and in those days you went to a county police department. They never tested her, they said to my dad, "Well Fred, if you brought her in she must be able to drive." They gave her a temp and she got her license in the mail. She sucked at driving. My ex said she got hers when she was 18 when she went away to college, a whole 10 minutes from home where her dad was an English Professor. She still does not drive worth a damn. :) Me, I was driving at 15 on a permit, regular license at 16. Used to tease my wife, she was 2 when I started driving. :lol:

Let me start out by saying congrats on passing the drivers test , and by this time congrats on arriving at Tom's. Enjoy your time there and have fun doing reviews.
Get a good sleep before your return trip home and try to stay calm behind the wheel , take it all in stride. Good luck and be safe.
 
Hehe, this was amusing. And I know the feeling. I used to do 8 hour drives with just a couple of pee stops going home from my base. That was exhausting. Motorway driving is the worst - you can so easily fall asleep. My advise - stop if your eyes get heavy.
 
Congratulations on the pass of your driver's license! And I agree with Fred, go easy on the alcohol :D
I'm 16 and all my friends keep drinking and drinking, it's kind of sad to see them :/

Feel a lot better today, though apparently I look hungover.
The car, I must say, was a star. Never skipped a beat even when I pushed it hard, and never so much as a judder.

Eating my first bit of 'real' food right now, and by George is it good.
As for the motorways, if ever I got to a large expanse of road where I'd be there for the next 3 hours or so I'd turn my sat nav off and crank the music up. That, and I think I was too nervous to sleep at the wheel.

Shall try to keep this updated if I can get any cool photos while I'm here :)

there's an app for that (probably), i know there is one on android can't think of it's name though.

Josh "Mum I'm going down to the Isle of Wight to see this guy off the internet."

Josh's Mum "ok".

Josh "Yep he's going to let me look at some computer hardware".

Josh's Mum "ok, what does this guy look like?"

Josh "He swears alot and he's got some nice tats".

Josh's Mum "Is he a sailor?"

Josh "No mum, he's really nice. Oh by the way I'm taking the car..."

Josh's Dad "You've got to let them go sometime love".

Josh's Mum "I suppose, they grow up so fast these days...."

Find my iPhone would work, but only Mother Weston could do that, and she doesn't really know how.

Pretty sure that's what things like iseries are for...

Considering the span of members from all areas of the UK - and the rest of the world, it'd be difficult to organise something like that if it was just to 'meet other members'

I guess I could hop on the boat to the UK, because I wouldn't want to miss that!
