Kempez's Project <<| Black3d |>> **56k**

Yeah it should be with that hole there :D

Got a mass sweetplan for the mobo tray. Bought some black acrylic and just need some screws. I'm thinking blanking plate :)

One knackered me today :(

Well: I had a day off and played a round of golf just before a nice bite + pint at the pub :p

But I did manage to get the rig installed into the case as both myself and the fiancee (well: mainly the fiancee :p) are getting annoyed at the mess

Had to cut a hole to allow the fan to get past the PSU holder but thats another story...needless to say I now have a dremel minus about 5 cutting wheels ;) Pics another day

Internals are ok. Wiring is a bit of a nightmare and I may have to hack around some more we'll see

Haven't put the lighting in yet. Thats for another week (maybe next week) when I'm not quite so tired and hot.

I haven't cleaned up the case yet so the pics are ok..ish

Got one fan grill through today. put it on with the bare fan for a comparison. I would like to know people's thoughts on this as I quite like the fan without the grill...but I also like the grill..

As usual thoughts and comments welcome! :)

Back to 2.8GHz now and temps are pretty good although the PWM IC is pretty high. Maybe I will get some replacement sinks.

Its a drop of about 7-8*C from my last setup...but remember that there's no GPU loop in there until I complete another bench PC.

They're plastic but yeah in theory I could catch my fingers

Been there, done that. Hurts + blood.

Neway VERY vice kemp! Thats a fine looking machine you got goin there!

Well plans are as follows:

Make a small "switchbox" from black plexi. This will be for the UV cold cathodes and white LED's. I have a sweet looking switch for it too :)

Add the CCFL's and the LED's

Cut a blanking plate from Black plexi for the drive bays.

Possibly cut a plate to shield the wiring hole

Possibly Cut another wiring hole in the mobo tray

Add second fan grill

Bit more in the future:

Add a GPU cooler into the loop

The grill inside the case looked cool. Stopped the fan from working tho ;)

Going with no grill mefinks

OK so I just had to get some UV in there. Turned out well :D

And the front:

Haven't made the switch box yet but the switch I have works well :D

The window looks very good imo. I'll try to get a decent picture but its hard to get. Because I've sanded the window with a lapping kit it looks real smooth and semi-transparent

Very very nice Matt. Those fans look awesome, especially against the black of the LL. Internal shots with the UV are lush too :yumyum: :worship:

Product Update

I am re-fitting the project.

This is kind of a performance upgrade as well as extending my watercooling.

Currently it will be:

Hardware

Conroe E6600

Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi edition

2gb Mushkin XP2-6400 or G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400

Watercooling

Either:

Eddie EK 7900 GPU block

or

Alphacool NexXxos 7900GPU Block

It's a fairly big change and should be even faster :D

Update: Alphacool NexXxos replacement block!

Update:

Just got my replacement Alphacool NexXxos GPU block. The first one was lost in transit :( But Alphacool sorted it :)

OoOooOooooo.... Looks like a truely 1337 block. Nice shiney and flat base, I bet that will do the trick on ur vid card. Can't wait for some cooling results, that's beastly mate! :rocker:

Just to prove that conroe is REAL and we do actually have some in the UK ;)

Just got to wait for a board and decide on my RAM now :)
