Kempez's Project <<| Black3d |>> **56k**

Not so sure I will tbh. I dont think so cause thats the idea of etching. Here's some pics of the alphacool block cleaned up and the changed internals

Kemp, can you not fit more hard drives in by mounting them the other way round...therefore get better air flow between them?

The old 'you can never have too many fans' huh? :)

Add: But dave does have a point. If you mounted them verticaly they would create a convection current, cooling themselves more efficently. its how the passive cooling on my car's amp works:).

...Then add the extra fan.:D

Nice work there Kemp. I am thinking about doing something like that on my side window sometime.

Thanks Mate

Twas good fun and deffo worth it imo. I'm trying to dream up another etch design

I didn't read past the 2nd page until today. Quite a lot of progress and it's coming along nicely man!

Thanks mate. You'll be happy to hear I'm using green (at this point ;))

simple, grab the clear/neutural color screen cover for u display and bosh some green marker on there,i used black marker to black out some windows on one of my micro rc cars(proper rc cars)

works a treat and uber cheapness lol.

cheers.

Decided to get a Storm block for the loop. Before I let the Zern go I did a little more practising of lapping on the block. Looks much better in real life than this pic but tis not bad - 30micron :D

Soz about the lack of updates I've been busy

recieved a load of stuff for the project recently

Amongst them are:

Cardkeeper Card retainer

Swiftech Apogee CPU Block

Loads of 1/2" Elbows

Loads of Jubilee Clips

Cable Braiding Black

Cable Ties white

Matt Black Car Aerosol Spray Paint

UV Green Water Dye

2 x Green LED's

2 x white LED's

1 x 12v LED inverter

Bolts...lots of Bolts

I also spoke to Alphacool. They said that the block I got was a one-off and they are sending me a new block. Should be with me tuesday.

All-in-all pretty decent news!

Monday I should be able to work on the project :)

sweet bro, glad you decided on the green uv dye

uv green works really well under just uv cathodes or gives a pretty nice effect coupled with a blue cathode, the blue cathode lights up the whole case highlighting the green:).

look forward to seing the project progress:D
