Hi guys

I've just decided to get in on this, i'm on my PC waaayyy too much just surfing so i'm sure i can lend a hand :)

i'll probably be under Xenophole

only running on my Mac (CPU) atm, but will get the pc going when i can

:)

Welcome dude. Don't forget to get a passkey, so that you can get QRB (quick return bonus) points. You don't get any QRB for the first 10 WU (work units), but after that you will.

Problems on windows 8 rig :(

Hey Guys,

I got it all sorted on my mac, but now trying to get it running on windows 8 and its giving me a bit of a headache.

It gives me an error (as shown) and also seems to send Chrome into a fit. And won't let me use it properly :(

I've done all of the windows 8 updates. last one i did was to do with the Microsoft framework
I've also got the C++ stuff...well i think i have the right ones..

If anyone's got any idea where i can go with this i'd really appreciate it so i can help out with the team

Cheers

Edit: Those pictures are wayyyy too small...

I'll just type it out:
Assertion failed!

Program C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\FAHControl.exe
File:cairo-curface.c
Line:860

Expression: status ==CAIRO_STATUS_SUCESS

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the VIsual C++ documentation on asserts

(Press Retry to Debug the application - JIT must be enabled)

And i've got installed:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17
"" "" 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.30319
"" "" 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.40219

Wooo

Hope that helps ;)

I've never encountered such an error. Have you applied any overclocks? Maybe go back to stock settings to make sure it's not an unstable OC.

i've tried reinstalling a few times already. but no change. I'll try the clock settings. And if that is the case? would it be worth overclocking but checking to see is stability with F@H ?

Usually if the OC gets through prime95 without throwing any errors, it will be fine with F@H. How long do you usually run prime95 for? I would suggest at least 12 hours. Alternatively, you can use Intel Burn Test at the "Extreme" settings.

I've now got it running at stock clocks, with a slightly OCed GPU.

I'm considering leaving my OC for the cpu on, and just remove the folding slot because its a pretty weak cpu anyway.

Edit:
Also it doesn't seem like the CPU is folding at all anyway ? it says its got a project but has no ETA and the % hasn't budged....
