Hi guys,

I just started folding for the first time. I'm getting almost 18k PPD on my GPU !

Here is a screen (sorry for the dutch text):

I hope the image is not too big !

Welcome to the Team ,some nice points from stock msi gtx580

Edit: You should be able to oc that lightning and get 20k+ ppd

Yep I will try to get it to 20K per day !

I have had my CPU running for 30 minutes now but it's still at 0% and not showing the amount of PPD.

Is this correct ?

i7 2600K currently at stock settings.

Should I uncheck big wu ?

Yes,if you havent completed any cpu-related wu`s yet.

Bonuspoints for big wu`s is only added when you have completed 10 wu`s.

And running stock-clocks ,you would have trouble finishing within timelimit.

I would stop cpu,uncheck big wu,delete wu,and start cpu.

With normal wu`s you should be able to hold 15-18k ppd at stock.

Edit: With bonuspoints.

Great I will do that.

Overclocking my gfx card right now !

I'm up to 900 MHz right now without increasing voltage and it's heaven stable !

Stock clock speed is 832 MHz.

Thanks !

900 is about the maximum for the core above that it starts to act weird. I'm also a bit weary when it comes to overvolting never overclocked a GPU before.

I'm at 18,7K PPD at the moment with the GPU.

Forgot to mention I actually had to give the GPU 12 mV of extra voltage to be stable in F@H.

I have no idea what the safe voltages are for a 580, I guess such a tiny amount shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Unless you mod afterburner it won't let you run unsafe voltages, so you can put the slider right up and it won't do any serious harm to your card.

Thanks everyone !

Ooh ! I guess it's time to start having some fun !

I still find afterburner a bit confusing I never really know if it has actually overclocked. I thought I had it running at 1Ghz but the 3D mark 11 score for my 900 Mhz result was way higher. It turned out it was jumping back to stock clocks

That might be what TTL was talking about in the video review with scores dropping off. My card was unstable before I had that problem.

Go get GPU-Z run it along side arfterburner when your OCing it will give you a live read out of your core clock and ram clock's as well as using afterburner so long as both reading are about the same you should be able to safely confirm your OC
