shows my inexperience/n00bness/arrogance lol

I guessed there would be to match the hose...god damnit - could you kindly "clean" my poll up :D

yeah but we're entitled to some adult humour every now and then :P

on a side note i am a 1/2" on 1/2" barbs guy using jubilees :D, anyone got some pics of the 7/16" on 1/2" barbs? i've not considered that yet it'd be nice to see it

7/16" tubing on 1/2" barbs here too, when I finally scrape together the cash for a water cooling loop. Shouldn't be too much longer now :P

Eller

Waterloop still full, suspended by the 2 barbs on the block alone.

Ive never had a leak and if it wasn't for fear of breaking the thing you could throw the thing around and it would still be fine.

Whoo hoo you lose like 1° over 1/2"... Worth it imo.

I got to agree with Ham on this one.. For the 1-2°c difference in temperature 10/8 and 11/8mm setups can be much safer and leak free. We use a 10/8mm setup here for the server opposed to 1/2" for "peace of mind".

That said, 1/2" setups can be just as leak free if fitted correctly but you can't beat a compression fitting for an almost 100% leak proof joint.

Always used 1/2" on 1/2" fittings with Jubilee's in the other systems mainly for looks as performance isnt my thing i would much sooner have a silent pc over a maximum cooling with big ass fans.

Should only be seeing at most 0.5 deg c diff in temps between a 10/8 loop and a 1/2" loop (assuming all else identical) - if you're seeing differences larger than that, something is amiss...

Looks like 1/2" is officially not worth it now. Back when pumps were not that good, it was, but now there is really no need.

Well I've got that Thermaltake kit so apparently I'm using 3/8" tube, no idea what barbs or locking system (it's some kind of screw down device).

Was just wondering, where does this leave me for upgrades? Will I have to replace the kit or is it possible to get a full gover block for a GTX that will fit this kit?

And before anyone starts I only bought it because it was cheap and I needed a new case at the same time.

Heh like I said, don't start, I don't have the money. Besides, I'd be wanting to keep the radiator as I really like the placememnt in this case.

ok i'm now on half inch tubing half inch barbs jubilees and cable ties where they won't fit (or can't reach to get to fit)

thus far... no problems touch wood..

No sweat. More or less all hardware is available in 3/8" or 1/2" variants... all the topend stuff takes 1/4" threaded fittings... and you can get more or less every possible fitting in that size to support whatever size hose you want. eg: Swiftech blocks come with both 1/2" and 3/8" fittings in the box...
