Just gonna go for an SSD

I need to reinstall. Something has borked up.

Anyway,

I'm gonna get an SSD.

Looking to buy from Aria. Mushkin Callisto deluxe any good?

Needs to be future proof until the point that SSDs are cheap enough to splash out on a big one. For now I just want something to hold its own for less than £100

I would say Force3 or Performance3 from Corsair

Theres a new OCZ ssd that came out but i cant remember its name --'

Hmm, yes the mushkin castillo is a good SSD

with read speeds up to 285mb/s its good.

Force3 and Performance3 get even higher reads, but maybe higher price too, havent checked that out.

Leaning towards a kingston ssdnow v100 series 64gb.

Should be enough to make the apps i use the most snappy

Not too pricey either. This is considered the best SSD at that price range right?

The Mushkin looks like it's the better one to me i'd personally go for that, the price is good as well and after you stick your OS on there you should have around 30gig left over for apps etc.

Have both kingston v100 64gb and mushkin callisto dx 60gb,and the v100 "feels" like the better one.

That Mushkin Callisto seems almost identical to the OCZ Vertex 2. Both are based on the SandForce SF-1200 controller and look to have the same specs.

Ordered the kingston drive. Cheapest and it seemed to perform the most predictably in terms of speed
