IT Qualifications - Which one to do?

Hello!

I have been working as an IT support guy in a small office for about 2 years now. I know a fair amount about networking, Windows server 2008/2012, dekstop support, etc. I was looking at either a CCNA qualification or a MCITP qualification. I was wondering what would be most beneficial and also what would be best given my current abilities?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Joe

If you already have Networking knowledge the CCNA will open you a lot of doors in the job market for a lot companies in the field

ccna is a great place to start if you want to get into higher level networking, for more general things I'd say MCSA from microsoft in your area of expertise.

mcitp is gone now isnt it? I though so at least and was replaced with mcsa

Argh! The reply I was typing got deleted because I was logged out before I could post! Let's try this again...

I have noticed that CCNA is a useful qualification to have. A lot of companies want people with that, judging by looking at jobs slightly further up the tree than I am.

I was looking at the situation of MCITP / MCSA and yes, I think MCSA has replaced MCITP. MCITP is still shown on the Microsoft website though which threw me a little.

What I was thinking of doing is getting the CCNA qualification and then moving on to get the MCSA:Server 2012. This would mean that I get a greater understanding of networking / networking hardware before learning more about server installations, maintenance, etc. My theory was that this would be better because I would know how to best setup a server with the surrounding networking hardware to best suit the client's/business'/person with money's needs.

According to the current job market a CCNA qualification would bag people a more highly paid job too:

Good idea? I know it would take a long time to get to the point of finishing the MCSA qualification but I'm 22, and so I have a fair amount of brain capacity left to fill :p

EDIT: Oh, and thank you for the replies! :)
