it might be relevant what you were doing when it happened. Was the rig on 24/7? Were you overclocking? basically anything that might help!

Of course we can help you - we just need some specs please, and what you were doing at the time, and whether or not you get any lights at the back just by plugging it in.

really bizarre never heard of the mach2 dieing before :S

anwyay phils you man, hope you get it all sorted out!

didnt take the board out yet

you mean the fuse on the wall plug? is there a fuse on the mach itself? maybe thats blown.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but did you unplug the prom and leave it sit for 5 - 10 mins before you tried to start it again??

Only if it is dead hell I'll replace components on his cct board if he wants even solder up track etc but I don't know if you can get all the chips anymore :(

I've looked into what is on the PCB. Its all fairly std stuff. The USB interface chip has been replaced by a pin compatible successor, the only thing I cant tell is whether the PIC (the bit that 'runs' things on the PCB)has had its security link 'blown' - in which case there's no way of telling what is in it. You'd have the prospect of monitoring all the inputs to it and figuring out what the outputs do, then writing your own code to replicate it - or do even better. Fairly straightforward stuff, but time consuming and you need the right gear. The parts on the PCB add up to less than £30 in say 100 off quantities. I know the present design aint great for swapping to better fans, but as I aint powered mine up yet, I dont have a 'wish list' for improvements yet. Ho hum

powered up BUT

ok guys after tinkering I got it to turn on was a blown fuse and boy does it turn on thats the problem. The mach 2 turns right on as soon as you plug it in. The leds on the back all go on and only the green one flashes. the display on the front reads boot loading reading. Does anyone have any ideas?

phil read

ok well i found a thread that has this problem on this sight. It says that as soon as you plug the unit in it powers on due to corrupted firmwear is this true? The weird thing is I did update the bios cause my asus p4c800-e didnt recognize my 3.4. The weird thing is I updated under air cooling then hooked up the mach 2 so I dont see how this could be how it happened.Well never the less I still need help

please

Matt

glad it worked out for you, i remember i crapped myself when my firmwire got fecked, it was completely screwed up, i'd turn the PC on and both the compressor and the PC would imediately boot, the mach wasnt powering the thermal pad on the back of the mobo tho so it would mess up :P

after updating the firmwire, it imedtiately went back to normal :P
