Like, this is what Vista should have been IMO. I am REALLY digging Windows 7 no doubt about it. The features and ease of use, along with the new navigation system is supreme.

Been a long time since I could give some serious props to MS, but you have finally done it!

Really need to get a spare drive to test it... Don't want to risk partitioning and losing my Vista installation.

Totally agreed dude. I've ditched Vista from all my rigs (laptop included) and am totally Win7 now.

Me too LOL Laptop and main pc are now win7 monkey7 ditch vista, win7 is way better...just backup the files you need...come on come to the wild side :)

Windows 7 is great. I had a few problems with a couple of games, but a few minutes tinkering and I solved them. The OS as a whole is much quicker, although I don't have it as my primary OS just yet. It's on a spare drive until I have everything backed up that I need.

everytime i read those postings make me want a new drive to test the 7 im with the cd but i can't do anything right now, theres some important info on my hd from uni, so i cant format it. but god, i must test it!:drool::drool:

Ok folks...

Is it really good enough to be used as a primary OS? Gaming wise? App support wise?

Thing is, I'm gonna buy me a Samsung 1TB F1 soon and am probably gonna do a fresh install within a couple of weeks. Would you all consider it fine to just go with Windows 7?

Can leave this drive as it is I guess and copy the stuff over that way.. Would be easier and mean I have a safe drive if all else fails.

Some companies have Windows 7 drivers out, e.g nVidia, but all the Vista drivers work with it, as it is basically vista with a new aero :p

I upgraded my vista to 7, before my HDD died :(

It's my primary OS on the new box, and I have no intentions of putting anything else on, total face rape is what Win 7 is....

Thing is the Beta of Win7 only lasts till August 1st. Prepare for alot of reinstalling or time changing :D

I'm sure there will be plenty of 1337 hax0rs for it by then. :D

Ooh, downloading now.. You have persuaded me to run it on my new rig :)

btw.. when its properly released, can you just buy an unlock code or do you have to re-install?

Reinstall most likely. The retail one will contain more things and updates :D

I think you will have to reinstall, update is a possibility although I'd prefer to do a fresh reinstall to make sure there are no bugs left in there from the previous set up :)

Ok, well I shall be using it anyway :D

Do vista drivers work at all? I cant find many W7 drivers about,
