that hdd brackets look awesome, great build, you have been working fast. keep it coming

thanks mate spent ages trying to work out where and how i was going to mount them. not got very far in a year as i was hoping to have it finished by now but due to having my van stolen and tools nicked at the start of the year ive not had so much free time or money to get it finished

Very nice indeed. :D
Thanks

Great setup and MOUSE ;)

thanks mate. i was going to get the white version but ended up the other. just need a mouse mat bad now as it has a mind of its own without lol

going to be using the space where my optical drives where to house my front usb 3.0 ports, power switches, switches for the lighting along with a fan controller. all this will be under the top to keep the front clean looking.
basic layout is this (not to sure how well it will show up)
DSC_0027.jpg

Also got some of the bits in primer today
the top of the pc case is now in primer and guide coat. the under side is also in primer
DSC_0028.jpg

also the front panel has had primer and also flated back
DSC_0030.jpg

might have to try and get some blue paint inside the case this week if we get some ok weather

checked the fit of the panel that will house the switches and fan controller. you can also see i put anther coat of primer over where i had bust throw to the last layer so its now all grey and ready for paint
DSC_0031.jpg

cut the carbon fibre for panel so its ready as soon as the base is
DSC_0035.jpg

then made a start on sealing the panel up ready for its finish
DSC_0037.jpg

applied the carbon fibre and a layer of resin over that
DSC_0022-1.jpg

just got to wait for the resin to go off now before i can trim it up

got my GPU water block today but the reservoir is yet to turn

im hoping the res will turn up before the new year not that it matters to much as i still need to get a CPU block, Rads and Pump

awesome desk man! i hope the rig will be too! u seem very talented =) what kind of background do u have?

thanks mate. yer im hoping so to :D
been in the car industry since i left school, mostly fixing/restoring old Volkswagen (old beetles, type1, type 2 transporter etc) with the odd old school porsche thrown in. its been pretty good so far as ive seen some right piles of junk come in and some nice motors go out although being a two man band things do take a little longer than the bigger companys but most people dont seem to mind

also after thoughts from you guys and girls on which colour compression fittings would look better with the acetal and nickel blocks and white tubing.

ek-psc nickel, ek-psc black or any other ideas welcome

this is looking amazing!!! can't wait for more updates!

thanks man

small update

marked out the space for the window that will be in the desk surface and the plexiglass has been ordered for that as well but wont be here till the first or second week of Jan

DSC_0042_zps7334fd10.jpg

the space inside the masking tape is the space that will be cut out for the window. the masking tape should just help to see the cut lines and i should i have marked out before i put it in primer :D

also thinking of braiding my cables in these to keep the black, white and blue theme going

i also agree black could look good to

Build is looking great so far.
I vote for the nickel, would look awesome :)

I have the black nickel ek compression fittings and I used mayhems pastel and the black colour was stripped of leaving a glorious silver on some parts of the component. Whether that is a sign of how potent mayhems dye biocides are or how low quality the ek plating job is I don't know

thanks for the heads up/info on that mate. if i was to buy black fittings its because id like them to stay black tho so id say that might have just made up my mind to go with them nickel ones

been messing around with the res looking for some where to put it and came up with these ideas so far of course thats unless some one else has anything else ;). the photos are not to good as they were taken on my phone as normal (because im to lazy to get the DSLR out) and the plexi reflected the light back from the flash.

option one: - mounted on the back wall of the lower part
DSC_0048_zps1a32becf.jpg

option two: - in the centre of the lower part. hoping if i did this i could get it up high enough to mount the pump under it or maybe just in front to help with the tubing runs. liking this one as it means you can see the res clearer throw the window as its not stuck right at the back
DSC_0049_zpsa89feba0.jpg

of course this option left me with a problem of how do you mount the res. i had thought of maybe a bracket from the floor or roof that i could screw the mounts to but then thought that option would not look to good. so the idea is to use some 40mm round Perspex rod with two slots machined in to it so that the mounts can be screwed in there and the res mounted to that. the Perspex rod could also be lite up with LED's to provide some lighting in the lower part.

this is the sort of Perspex rod i was thinking of

option three: - i like the look of it here but getting good flow out of it would be hard unless the pump was mounted under this section
DSC_0051_zps2498f1ed.jpg

althought i could mount it the same way up on the roof but this could mean large amounts of tubing on show which im trying to avoid due to it looking a mess.

Of course the fan was there just to raise the res off the floor for a better idea of how it would

fitted magnets to the front panel so it can still come off if i ever need to get in to the lower part and the side dose not allow enough room.

also still waiting on the plexiglass for the top window which i was hoping would be here by now. also looking to purchase another router so that i can trim up the surface area and bevel the edge so i can get it ready for paint.

how about option 4, placing the res and pump to either left or right at front? or is the front reserved to something else? also the perspex looks cool. i would choose them if i had the chance to.
