hi guys :) I've currently got a 6850 cyclone edition and i'm looking to upgrade it at around christmas. i know its not exactly a bad card its just i need it for my bedroom pc so i can game on that to (gt220 in it at the moment).

i'm looking to spend about 200 quid on it. I'm currently looking at the 660, 660ti, 7870 and 7950. which of these would be the best bang for buck? the 660ti and 7950 would be pushing the budget a bit (around 250 from what i can find) but if they would be the better choice then i would try and get one of those.

any help would be great guys :)

7870 is the best bang for buck card out there imo. The 660 and 660TI are crap bang for buck, forget Nvidia's mid-low end cards as AMD's equivalents are faster and cheaper.

So yeah, 7870 gets my vote. Get a non-reference card too, Powercolor and Sapphire are my top picks

The 7870 is a great card, not sure how it performs compaired to a 660ti but is less expensive.

Well you find that the coolers with the slightly smaller fans tend to have a more aggressive fan profile and are a little louder for the same temps.

By loud I don't mean actual 'loud'. I just mean that it isn't the best of the non-reference cooler designs. It's still miles better than the reference design and the 7950 is better than the 7870 by a fair bit.

If it were me, I'd get that card and use MSI AB to adjust the fan profile. Sorted.
