Ok so I have a single 1TB Hitachi drive in this machine on JBOD and Windows file system.
All is running ok as far as the file server is concerned but I have some questions:
1. All Vista machines in the house can map to the drive but not the XP machine. In map drives it shows the IB but nothing beneath it.
2. Copying files over a gigabit network with gigabit everyting gets a max of 7MB/s which I consider poor.
3. I can load a torrent and start it but, it never starts. I have mapped 6881 to the machine but still, nothing.
4. I have to search for the IP address, the name does not work for the web interface. This is a pain. I am using a ST585v7 and all other machines on the router interface are shown by name apart from the IB. This makes it a pain as the address changes each time the machine is booted.
