I've got a Asus VH242H, it's 23.6" (16:9) but it's awesome. HDMI, VGA and DVI connections aswell.

I managed to get one of these older scumbags from Scan b4 they sold out 24" Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP. They have the newer model in there now for, I think, the same price.

Thing is with these 24"s from Dell/Samsung/LG/ASUS/etc, whichever one u get, it will look amazing. The only thing that can sour it is if ur m8 can bring his over and sit it next to it. Then one of u may get upset.

Individually I haven't seen a "bad" one. Personally prefer 1920x1200 over 1920x1080 - but still, the same argument rides with that.

U add £200 to the price ~mostly~ for connectivity. And don't be put off if u initially plug whichever one u get in and feel the picture isn't what u expected. They have intense menus and are normally setup as factory when u get them.

i like the look of the dell and i can get it for £200 with shipping, the only thing tat lets it down i guess is the respnse time of 5ms some are 2ms,but conectivity wise it has hdmi, dvi, vga what else do you want, reselution wise its gna be in a duel screen setup

Nope no difference, I went from 5ms to 2ms and there wasn't any difference. I played Wolfenstein every single day for 3 years and I used that monitor, before that I used a 5ms one and there was no difference. The only reason I changed was because my 5ms monitor wouldn't work with my new graphics card.

Hey, there is a new acer 24" LED backlit monitor out that's in your budget, £250, it's a TN panel so cheaper and probably at the top of the best TN panels out, personally I prefer the PVA or IPS panels that the Dell 2407 and higher models use, it's your call depending on what the monitor will be used for. Whilst TN panels are better for gaming, the time difference is not noticiable to the naked eye in most cases. Hope this helps, I'm also looking out for a new monitor to upgrade to!

I'm from Spain so I don't know where to find this monitor in the UK, but try to find NEC EA231WMi, 1080p, IPS panel, 23". In Spain we can find it for 292€ (258.99 pounds), for an IPS it's completely... I don't know the word, anyway, it's really cheap.

I just purchesed the 24" Dell ST2410 (the £211 you linked from Scan!) it came today but I haven't had a chance to install it.

But it IS a beautiful monitor! Definately worth my money. :D I'll be in my student house at some point tonight so I can give you a small summary + pics if you want on it? :)

AWSOME dani that would be great.you could of got it from ebuyer for £199.99 tho .

but yer your thoughts and some pics would be awsome.

thanka again

I did get it off ebuyer ;) for that price as well.

Just got it set up now, absolutely stunning screen! Such a jump from 19" (which is my first monitor - this 24" is my second dual screen for gaming).

Here's a few images for you:

So in comparison to my 19" (left) the 24" (right) is massive!

Just comparing the slim-ness of the screen to a pencil I had lying around.

Plug is pretty standard.

dell_inputs.jpg

Input panel: 1x DVI-D, 1x HDMI and 1x VGA (Think there's a lock as well but didn't get it in the pic)

dell_buttons.jpg

Buttons are hidden nicely along the side, once pressed they display on screen.

Hope this helps you decide buddy. :)

Sorry the images are so big, I did resize them in photoshop. :S

Save more, get a 2409/10WFP. You'll never need another screen again :D.

Or go 2nd hand and get a older 2408/07. Use a 2407 here and wouldn't trade it for anything other than perhaps a 30xx

this man speaks the truth!
