As in the title, I am planning to build a 4770k rig plus a GTX Titan

Has anyone done this yet and if so how did it perform

Thanks.

Go read the reviews that tom has done. Most people, including myself will recommend you to buy a 780 or even 2 780 (only a little be more than a titan) .

780 is cheaper and only slightly under a Titan.

lol, I do love these posts

"Hey I obviously haven't read/watched any of your content, I have lots of cash and I'm basically just going to brag about buying the best hardware to make friends here" - Nope, that was a mistake :)

Get a 780(or even 2!) not a bloody Titan

9 times out of 10 they never buy it anyways.

ah well,
maybe we should put a sticky up lol
Titan yes if you want to brag 780 if you have more than a few brain cells :)

Very true, its a shame though, but i think sub hit it on the head with them trying to make friends, by "having all the kit"

if one of my friends got a titan i would be sending him all the graphs tom did just to show how much money they wasted :P

tbh this topic was most likely started as a troll ^_^

It was a genuine question, I am interested to know how a Titan works with Haswell. I need to know if there is an improvement over using one on X79, SB and IB.

Thanks

I think you guy's are misunderstanding what I am asking, that review was done before Haswell was launched. I already know a little bit about the GTX Titan and how it runs on various platforms like X79.

What I am interested in is how the Titan performs on Haswell, does it perform better due to the increased efficiency of the 4770k CPUs compared to the older CPUs like the 3770k or 3930k.

This is important to me as I enjoy doing a little bit of benchmarking.

Thanks

Haswell won't hold back a single Titan so no it should not perform any different than an X79 based system. The results Tom obtained in the 780 review will be pretty much the same on Ivy, SB-E or Haswell.

+1 also most games are heavily GPU based CPU is hardly used.
