What i don't get is why was that guy so desperate to get up that vent?

He could have gone back the way he came or continued along the vent until he got to the roof area.

yeah but the roof is full of CTs but still i would 've just went back or i would defend the vent Oo, and yet the vent isn't that good there are better places on that map
