How long do you run Furmark?

Hey all!

So today I thought I might as well do some overclocking on my laptop's GPU. Increased the Core Clock bij 101MHz and the Memory clock by 100MHz, and started running Furmark.

Right now it's ran for about 13 minutes with a maximum temp of 88' Celcius. I think I'll keep it running for another 7 minutes and then It should be fine.

I was wondering how long you guys run Furmark though, so I thought it might be a good idea to create a thread for it :)

Furmark used to break certain 'cards due to causing them to draw more power then the mofosets (I think) could cope with. It stresses the card pass normal max usage.

Really? Oh well mine did fine for 20 minutes, just exited the stress test and deemed it stable!
Might have to look out in the future then, I guess I'll uninstall it. Thanks for the warning guys ;)

Not at all, Furmark is just nasty. I generally use Heaven when overclocking and then take it back down a few bins for 24/7 use but I generally make a few profiles, one with stock voltage, one just maxed out for benching and one that makes the best compromise. It really depends whether i'm gaming or benching as to how ambitious I get, in general 3d-mark is the most brutal graphics benchmark, if you can get through all of those without instability it should be good in most games. Heaven and especially Valley by contrast seem quite easy but I just find it easy to notice when a GPU starts to trip up in Heaven hence why I use it so much.

AMD and Nvidia have built in protection now from FurMark. They throttle themselves, and you can't turn it off. They still get real hot, but don't get maximum usage in it now.

I don't think its a good idea to run that program at all.

Furmark killed 570s/580s by causing them to draw waay more power then they could actually cope with. Nvidia fixed it pretty quickly by adding a power draw limiter.

A. Never ever, this piece of software has done more damage to PCs than the millennium bug.

I am not a huge advocate of furmark because I suspect that it killed my r9 290, but that's a whole other story. Use Unigine Heaven or Valley. Run it for 10 min. every time you up your core or memory speed and once you think you have found the limit test for 6 hours to make sure it's rock solid.

Stick 3D mark, Heaven, and Valley.

I find Heaven to be the easiest to notice any issues, like artifacts. Very easy to see and if i get it there, i'll get it anywhere else.
