Hey! I just bought all my parts finally!

everything is in and when i booted up nothing happened a surge of power goes thru the board (fan turns on for a mintue) and a yellow light stays on. whats the problem?

Wheres the light situated? Is it an asus board?

dfi lp ultra d the led is now flashing yellow with a red led now flashing every now and then and the word "debug" is below it. None of the fans are coming on. Im starting to think that its my psu. Its a pcp&c 510, and the psu fan doesnt come one when i power it up, and im hearing a tick somewhre.

Have you put one stick of RAM in the top orange slot? And make sure the floppy drive (if you have one) is put on properley

Then once you can get to POST: put RAM voltage up a notch or two and stick the other stick in the other orange slot.

yup, rams whre its suppose to be. I think its my psu, because it keeps making a "ticking" noise and i hoooked a connector up to a fan not connected to the mobo and it too does the same thing; it goes, then stops, goes then stops, etc.

thats one blurry ass shot but it looks like the ram is in the wrong place from that picture, you need to use the top yellow one

really? everywehre i look it says orange slot at the edge of the mobo. even in the dfi manual.

Found the problem finally, and it was such a miniscule problem... anyway got the bios up, and im gonna run memtest, is there anything i need to do before i run windows?

No just install with ne stick of RAM.

Then flash the BIOS to the latest (winflash works) and stick in the rest of the RAM

Make sure you increase voltage as DFI recommends
