i purchased a NZXT phantom 410 recently and when i went to get the standoffs out of the accessory box the bog labeled standoffs hand 8 standoffs i have looked the other bags and i cant find the last standoff so im assuming they forgot to include it. So what should i do mount my mother board with only 8 standoffs ( if so which standoff hold down should i not use)?

You don't actually need them all man. Just try and make sure the board is supported evenly so it wont flex if you try plugging something into it. The two that are close together, you could probably loose one of those without problems.

At the moment my board is held in with 2 or 3

Are you sure there is not one already installed on the case? sometimes the manufacturers install some. You can do it with only eight, the best spot to leave one off is probably the center standoff on the top row. Just be sure to install your memory and CPU before you mount the board.

Also, be sure to shake the empty case around to see if it came loose and got stuck somewhere in the case. I have bought two NZXT cases and they both had spare hardware floating around in the case when I took them out of the box.

Would not recommend leaving standoffs out if you use heavy CPU heatsinks tbh.

If you can't find your last standoff and it really bothers you:
Edit; Ohwait, I think eBay links aren't allowed. Anyway, you could just search for 'motherboard standoffs' and you can buy a bag for like 5-6 quid.

Leave out a standoff wherever your going to have the least weight...
I'd imagine bottom right shouldn't be too much of a problem to leave off, I know my motherboard's help in with only 5/6...
