Help is my mobo dying

i got some weird issue with my dvd burner everytime i connect it to my psu it doesnt boot at all it just is sitting there doing nothing when i plug it out it boots WTF? can someone explain me this 3 hours earlyer everything was fine but now it isnt :S

The burner or the IDE cable could be dead,when they go bad they can keep a machine from booting. Usually the IDE cable being bad will just make the drive not show up but if the drive is bad I have seen them keep the machine from booting.

it only happens when i plug the power cable from the psu in the burner but when plug power cable out it boots fine so i doubt its the cable i think its the burner itself
