Hi Guys,

Got my mach 2 GT yesterday, modded my case, set everyting up and it shows 2 error codes on the display......

They say "No Shut Down" & "Cooler Failure 2700 sec"

Is the psu supposed to fire up?

I've fiddled & fiddled but can get past this. HELP!

Thanks In Advance

You're gonna need to post more info on the rest of your set up, m/b, cpu etc. If you've got a recent AMD m/b you may need the 821 firmware but I'm no expert and I don't have a GT so although it sounds similar to my early problems I'd research it thoroughly beforehand.

It sounds like you need to upgrade the firmware at least - I dont like the look of the Cooler failure - can I ask where did you get the GT from? Was it one of ours?

Sorry to hear your having problems. Is your compressor actually firing up? Your 12V connecter from your computer fires up the relay to let 110V to your compressor. That is why Im asking if your compressor is starting.. It sounds like you may only have 12V and not 110( Bad Relay)

Let me know how you make out

the fans start in the unit but not the psu. i don't think the compressor is starting!

It was purchased from here recieved it yesterday......

How do i update the firmware when i cant even get the system on?

When trying to get it working, it won't start for 45 minutes after.

Hmm sorry to hear you are having problems. Was this a brand new unit? If so, and its faulty, we will need to get it back to test.

Ok to update the firmware you need to attach the usb cable to a spare header on your motherboard (ideally you need to be using an air cooled pc when you do this). You can install the control centre on this pc and update the firmware from there, providing the unit powers up (sounds like it does) you will be able to flash the firmware - this might be all you need to resolve it. The LCD will give you indication that things are working as planned. Let us know how you get on.

Can you just confirm its connected correctly? Blue/white wire to the power switch and yellow direct to the motherboard. Molex connected to the psu. USB to the mobo.

Sounds like it is the firmware as the standard firmware won't work with the newer A64 m/b chipsets which is the problem I had, you need to update the firmware but you can't do that until you have the system up and running. If the PC isn't firing up this is because it's being held in reset by the mach II and it's not triggering at the boot temp. You'll need to fool the pc into powering up when the mach ii hit's the correct temp, with the standard unit this defaults at -33, with the GT I think it's slightly lower, -36 or something but someone else can confirm. You need to go through the standard power up, keeping an eye on the mach ii display, when it hits the boot temp you need to short the two power terminals on the m/b where the blue and white connectors from the mach ii would normally connect with something metallic such as a screwdriver. Also, if you keep the connectors on until it hits the boot temp and then remove them you may find this triggers it as it does with mine without having to short the terminals. Once the PC boots you can reconnect the blue/white leads to the terminals, once you boot into windows you can upgrade the firmware to 821, there's a sticky at the top of this thread for download and install instructions. Hope it goes without saying you should make yourself entirely sober and static free before attempting this but it's not as crazy as it sounds.

OK I Got it connected to a second PC, the "Cooling Fault 2700 sec" is gone....

Now it still has "No Shutdown", the compressor's not firing up...

The ambient display in the bottom right corner increases by 10 degrees over 3 minutes.... also the back of the evaporator head gets quite hot, is this normal?

What does "No Shutdown" mean, the manual is too vague, just tells you to contact your local supplier, what's that about....

Thanx Again

Basicly its not firing ur PC up/down... thats wat the no shutdown means..

Update ur firmware and u will find everything will work fine after..

No Shutdown happens when the PC turns off and the Mach unit doesn't get a shutdown signal from the mobo. If you turn the PSU in the PC off when the units running it comes up with No Shutdown. To get rid of it you have to boot the PC up and shutdown the PC again with the unit connected. That's all I do anyway ;).

Sorry to hear your havin probs tho mate, I've had problems with my Mach2 before but everything is good now thanks to Phil :D.

Cheers

OK, just fired up one of my old machines.... When I Have come to connect the usb cable i've noticed it does not match the manual..

It goes White, Green, Red & Black.... How do I change this without breaking the adapter?

Please help!

mine is wired white/green/red/black and my other usb cables are red/white/green/black works fine for me or use a pin ti pull the plugs out of the black plastic bit

Solved the usb problem, connected the usb, installed drivers, updated drivers then installed firmware - twice to make sure!

Tried starting system same problems!!!

PC PSU still does not fire up, error problems "NO SHUTDOWN" & "COOLER FAULT 2700 SEC"....

What's the hells wrong with this thing?

HELP!

Nothing at all in the pc fires up at all, not psu ,motherboard etc....

The "COOLING FAILURE 2700 SEC" i've worked out if there is no 12V line entering prommie...

Only the fans in the mach 2 - slow, then build up to full speed, then slowdown again after 10 - 15 seconds

you sure u hooked the cable up correctly i.e the yellow cable on the Mach connected to the motherboard correctly?
