Help! cyberlink wont uninstall or update

I have cyberlink powerdvd version 5 or 6 not sure, it wont uninstall so i have now deleted all the folders and files of this program but its still not letting me install version7, wont even let me reinstall the old version.

i dont know what to do, i tried going to add/remove programs and the files are still listed but not letting me remove them, i tried it before deletein the files also.

I dont want to reformat my computer for such a small problem

There`s either something in the startup (not the Start->Startup) - or more likely some registry stuff left in there in an attempt to stop people using trials and different versions - shoddy.

Could try seaching ur registry.

im not that talented and dont like messing with registry.

where do i need to look etc, if i know what im looking for ill be happy messing with my registry cause if all goes wrong ill reformat and start again with a fresh system. i got and external harddrive to copy all files accross to it.

Well u can backup whatever u delete from the registry. U can save what u select, then delete it.

U can go Start->run or type in the search thing of vista, regedit, and when it comes up Edit->find and put in cyberlink and see what comes up.

Don`t like using registry cleaners too much myself, but they can help by erasing info on stuff that is no longer on a pc. The better ones will allow u to backup the registry too so u can re-apply.
