Or did I just straight ahead fuck up with the thermal paste..
I've got a I5 2500K @4.4Ghz with 1.366V. 105.00 x 42.0
The cooler is Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
I'm running Prime95 with the blend-in test I think.
In the first 1 minute my heats went up to 70. (From Core 1-4 = 63, 71, 70, 70)
I've been running it for 4 minutes now and those are the max temperatures so far. At this exact moment 60-67-67-65.
I pretty much got a feeling that this isn't normal, so many times people say like "Yeah I've got the Hyper 212 Evo, 6Ghz clocks, ran it for 24 years and max temperatures were 60".
When installing the cooler, I accidentally faced it the wrong way, as it was pushing air upwards. I wanted it to push it to the back. I didn't quite pay attention when installing it so accidentally did it wrong. Well I took it off, turned it and put it on.
The problem here is that the thermal paste messed up a little. There was some around the processor etc. so I cleaned atleast most of it off with a paper, and put the cooler on.
After 9 minutes 60-69-67-64 Celcius. This can't be a good amount?
I'm not going to take it off to re-apply the thermal paste since it's going to take way too long, and I haven't got thermal paste..
I thought about maybe upping the clocks a bit more, but since it's getting that hot already I might not. It gets up to 70 rarely on some cpu-heavy games too.
But the question shortly : Is this bad performance from the cooler? Did I really screw up the thermal paste that badly?
