GTX780ti Coming!

if you would move on from your 780 sli setup to a 780ti sli setup i'd declare you a maniac.

I would actually take myself to an asylum and just utter these words "780 SLI to 780 TI SLI" they would lock me away for life "This man is clearly ill in the face !!!"

That upgrade bug can be pretty hard to control at times, but sadly the bank account has to win out. :P

three way sli is completely pointless. imo even 2 way sli isn't worth the struggle.
Well, people wouldn't run multi GPU setups if there were single GPUs powerful enough for their needs. 2-way scales best but 3-way isn't that far off. It depends a lot on the bandwith available too. 4-way is where scaling becomes an issue.

More like support in the for it in numerous industries. Simply no need for it. 3 way is pushing it quite far, now 4 is just stupidity unless benchmarking is all it is used for; even then scaling is still terrible.

What struggle are you referring to? SLi is a walk in the park these days.

still struggles with a lot of games. for example cru3l139 had problems with his framerate in csgo because of SLi. he himself says that now he wishes he would have gone with a single 780 and a smaller case. you really only need the performance for surround setups and those have a lot of problems as well, so for myself i came to the conclusion that SLi and crossfire are pointless and that i will rather stick to a single card.

also i guess with the 290x being rather...bleh...they can pretty much cancel the 780ti.

Can you not just disable one card and run it in single for CS: Go then?

What FPS was he getting in CS: Go, I can't see how that game can be challenging at all.

300fps is the limit which should be obtained to get the best strafe distance in bhop, in SLi it would just settle on 180fps, which is pretty bad for bhopping. he fixed the issue by disabling SLi but what's the point of SLi if you have to disable it all the time, + he never needed the performance of two 780s even once.

I run SLi with 0 issues like this.. :S CS:Go is just fine, along with most of the latest titles...

BF4 was butter smooth, BF3 still is, eve is, well, it uses 20% gpu most of the time so that barely counts. CS:GO again, butter smooth.. Honestly most of the SLi issues I've seen are from incorrectly installed drivers (usually the case) or not properly setting the SLi config up.

I think some people forget that you have to do a full CLEAN driver install when you chuck in another card *after* you turn it on and enable SLi.. this applies less to setups that are started as SLi in the first place, but when people just chuck in another card they don't often do it correctly. Nothing bad against them it's just lack of experience. But I've been SLi'ing cards since the 7800 days and never had an issue except in the very early days with games that didn't even know how to use 2 GPU's lol

180fps is butter smooth but that's not what it's about. idk if you know how the idtech engine and its derivations work, but FPS play more of a role than just having a smooth experience. + i am pretty sure cru3l139 knows how to install drivers, especially since it was a clean installation.
oh another issue was that Borderlands 2 kept crashing.
also what do you need SLi for?

I really wouldn't be bothered if I was getting 180fps, and the other card wasn't doing it's job lol.

You want to try Far Cry 3 at 30fps! Even that's playable to me, but there sure is a difference between that and BF4 at 50-60!

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking me Seeka?

I played borderlands 2 with sli for HOURS, no issues at all.

What do I personally need sli for? Frame-rate mate, I play FPS and like to keep it smooth in 64 player BF3/BF4 :) proof in the pudding for BF4

3GB 580's in SLi were lapping it up compared to some of the new cards having issues 6 series and even 7 series were having issues all over the place.

idtech doesn't work that way. the physics are bound to the FPS, which is crucial for bhopping.

idk about you but i was running the BF4 beta on high settings on 64 player servers and i wasn't dropping below 60fps. so i guess the full game i would be able to play on ultra, if i would buy it which i won't.
i'd rather buy a new single GPU every year than two of them and then waiting for 2-3 years for an upgrade.

Your rig isn't to disimilar to mine, what was you getting on ultra for the beta?

Like I said mine was usually 50-60, but it did hit 90 at the max. (I wasn't looking at the floor or the sky either lol).

i only played it on high settings with ultra textures and that got me 60-80 fps.

I was playing on ultra with average of around 65~70 fps, but it ranged from about 50 to 150 (good ole frostbite)
