GTA V on PC anyone?

I heard that the port will be out at the same time the xbone/ps4 (next year I'll guess) which would make sense I guess as the port would be much easier that way. The port better be half decent this time as well as gta 4 was a horrible port.

Why does everyone keep saying about the bad port?

Yes I know it was bad,BUT what you are all forgetting is that Max Payne 3 is built on the same engine as GTA,and that was a good port, they have had a few years to work on this engine now so things should be much smoother.

We can only base are opinions on past experience, GTA 4 wasn't the beat of ports.

After all the patches gta 4 is pretty stable, not as smooth as The balled of gay tony but prettymuch all video footage of gta 5 looked like it ran on a pc, i highly doubt they recorded that from the current gen consoles.

That said, i would love to have gta 5 this year on pc.

Max Payne 3 had quite a bit more development engine-wise than GTA 4 did for PC. That's why it looked/played better. Hopefully all that, and more, will be applied to GTA 5

I play GTA IV nearly every day on PC, it runs, it's still beautiful at times, heck i've ran it at 5760*1080 and 1440p without too much difficulty, it can't be that bad. I think the problem was it came out before we had the hardware, i'm ready this time, i'd be happy to accept it if it was just the same tbh it still looks better than anything on PS3.

You're kidding right?

The game was designed to be played on inferior hardware to that available on the PC. Bad performance of a game ported from console to a PC is one thing, a bad port, with bad optimization / lazy implementation. It's got sod all to do with what we have available for the game at the time.

Yes of course it runs fine *now* because the gear has the pure grunt to get past the fact that it's a pile of shit port.. (and of course it's probably had some tweaks along the way)

GTA 4 does offload to the CPU, on my rig I see CPU usage at 80-90% and my GPU sits at 60-70%.

My i3 really isn't up to rendering.

IN the OP post to forbes they also stated that "error" quote in the bottom of the article so i guess you guys didn't read it? May have been updated too..

Either way i won't be getting any GTA. Never liked them but it sells well so as long as it keeps pushing the industry forward i don't mind.

I dont know i will be getting grand theft auto for xbox as i have already pre ordered it but if it comes on pc that will be great for me getting back into the modding game. all that horse power and wide map. The possibilities are endless.

I reckon it will still come to pc, but nvidia had to release that statement due to rockstar kicking their backsides.

Although the slip of being out this year, I don't think it will, Q1 of 2014 earlier I reckon

GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA IV. All these games were console exclusives on launch. Some time after the launch Rockstart said "oh yeah, almost forgot, but there's actually a PC version coming out later on" and all of these games came to the PC.

Now as for all the bull regarding people saying that it's going to suck on the PC: GTA IV was their first game on the first engine and the game struggled on the consoles as well cause of that, they had to do a lot of guesswork regarding on how it's going to work on the consoles as they didn't have experience with those either. So yeah it was a mess, but they've now had so much time shaping GTA V and messing with the engine that it could turn out better this time, as long as they have a competent team porting the game to the PC.

No doubt the game will come out on the PC in 2014.

As I've always said, the pc version will be out with the next gen console's version. Its an easy port that way and we all know how lazy Rockstar are when it comes to porting.

Glad it's delayed on PC, that way I'll have something to play next summer/spring. Arma 3, PayDay 2 and BF4 is more than enough until then.
